Happy New Year! This newsletter will provide a recap of January 2021!

Thank you for supporting us in our mission to provide free tutoring to K-12 students across the nation. As we transition into the incoming months of 2021, we hope to continue our expansion to accommodate more students and volunteers. This is an overview of Iridium Tutoring’s progress in 2020. We are grateful for the amount of support we received from everyone!

January 1, 2020  - Iridium Tutoring reaches 800 free tutoring sessions milestone

January 5, 2020 - Iridium Tutoring launches Scholarship Fund

January 10, 2020 - Iridium Tutoring launches Discord Server

January 17, 2020 - Iridium Tutoring reaches 900 free tutoring sessions milestone

January 20, 2020 - Iridium Tutoring reaches 1500 free tutoring hours milestone

January 28, 2020 - Iridium Tutoring reaches 1000 free tutoring sessions milestone

SCHOLARSHIP FUND

At Iridium Tutoring, we hope to support our students not just in their education, but also in their future financially. We decided to roll out our scholarship fund which will be open to all high school applicants. Scholarship amounts will range from $100 to $500, where recipients will be notified via email on a rolling basis. More information about the application process can be found through the link below.

COURSE CONTENT

So far, we have in development four of the ten chapters of our Algebra 1 course, which will contain presentations and videos that will supplement our tutoring. We have released a few videos so far on Algebra, which can be found on our YouTube channel. Please consider joining our Google Classroom for Algebra as well.

DISCORD SERVER

We hope to support more open communication with families, so we decided to open a discord server for parents and students to chat, hangout, and receive chat-based homework help if needed. We will also be announcing updates to Iridium Tutoring and other inside-work we are doing. Please click here to join the server.

LETTER FROM THE DIRECTORS

Hello! We hope that all of you had a great start to 2021!

First of all, we would like to thank everyone for their dedication to our cause. Without it, we would have never been able to face the challenges education inequality creates for people around the world. We hope that we can continue this organization in the years to come and assist even more students in their academic endeavors.

We would also like to thank Avidia Bank, Hanover Insurance Group, and Middlesex Savings Bank for their grants to Iridium Tutoring, each providing us with significant monetary support to help our causes. They will be put to cover operational and material costs, in addition to our scholarship program in the future.

Updates to our course content creation and scholarship program will be announced on our discord server, so feel free to join it if you are interested in connecting with our team.
