7. New Business
- Sub-Committees: PAWSS would like to have the authority to form sub-committees that would be small groups of volunteers to oversee various volunteer opportunities. The committees would be appointed by the EC based on areas of interest that members would like to be involved in and characteristics that individuals hold. These will become formal next year and will serve for two years; but we know that we need some of these sub-committees to begin this year and lay the framework during this school year.
- Teacher Encouragement and Support: Brandy Lawrence presented this committee. She will be the EC member in charge of this committee. This is a current need and forming a committee to celebrate, bless, pray for, and encourage teachers and staff. This team is going to be made up of those gifted with encouragement and intentionality. This is an opportunity for working parents to be involved as well. Jen Wheat said that one of the main things is focusing on compiling dates, lists, etc. Motion was made to approve by K Seargant; M DeShields seconded.
- Homeroom Parents Sub-Committee: Jen Wheat filled in what this will look like; but asked to table this at this moment in time. T Lovins made motion to table; J Molle seconded.
- Athletic Boosters Sub-Committee: Jen Wheat will be the EC member in charge of this committee. T Lovins stated he would be very interested in being on this committee with his experience of working in concessions. This will be a form of fundraising for PAWSS. Motion was made to approve by S Ragsdale; R Blalock seconded.
- Reformation Day Sub-Committee: Jen Wheat suggested that this be tabled and be presented at a later day. M DeShields motion to table; J Molle seconded.
