Kelloggsville Virtual School 2023-2024 School Improvement Plan

  1. Reading Goal: 75% of all 6-12 Kelloggsville students that attend KVS will meet or exceed their projected growth on the Reading NWEA assessment for Fall 2023 to Spring 2024. (Currently at 69%)
  1. Activity: All 6-12 students will be required to attend in person to take the NWEA so that data is consistent and valid. This data will be used to form intervention groups.
  2. Activity: All 6-12 students will be assessed through course pre-tests.  Data will be collected and used to drive daily instruction.
  3. Activity: All 6-12 students will be scheduled in a live-taught virtual Language Arts class weekly. The instruction will focus on the power standards of the week.
  4. All students will have access/exposure to grade-level work through scaffolding and engagement strategies.
  5. ALL staff (regardless of teaching assignment) will be expected to contribute to reading activities within their lessons.

  1. Math Goal: 60% of all K-12 Kelloggsville students that attend KVS will meet or exceed their projected growth on the Math NWEA assessment for Fall 2023 to Spring 2024. (Currently at 48%)
  1. Activity: All 6-12 students will be required to attend in person to take the NWEA so that data is consistent and valid. Data will be collected and used to form intervention groups in Khan Academy.
  2. Activity: All 6-12 students will be assessed through course pre-tests.  Data will be collected and used to drive daily instruction.
  3. Activity: All 6-12 students will be scheduled in a live-taught virtual Math class weekly. The instruction will focus on the power standards of the week.
  4. Teachers will implement new curriculum resources and use Khan Academy weekly for a minimum of 30 recommended practices.

  1. Whole Child Goal (SEL): All 6-12 students who attend KVS will have the opportunity to create and maintain positive relationships with staff and students during the 2023-2024 school year.  Students that attend KVS will increase their score on the universal screener on Social Emotional Learning from Fall 2023 to Spring 2024.
  1. Activity: All 6-12 students will be assigned a morning PRIDE meeting from 8:00-8:30 am to engage in SEL lessons and social skills with peers.
  1. These activities will involve KPS Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiatives
  2. Social Emotional Learning (Second Step and exploring TRAILS)
  3. PBIS activities
  1. Activity: All 6-12 students will complete a universal screener developed by Kelloggsville Public Schools in the Fall of 2023 and again in the Spring of 2024. This screener will identify student areas of need pertaining to social and emotional growth.
  2. Activity: All 6-12 students will be assigned a Social Emotional Learning time to engage in lessons from the Second Step programming (6-8 only) and TRAILS.
