*** How to participate in our online picket ***

Welcome to GSOC’s virtual picket line! When you enter, you will find our online world where graduate workers at NYU are striking for a fair contract. Check in with the picket leader at the tent, access broadcasts from our in-person picket line, participate in our daily programming, and/or just hang out while we strike!

Moving Around Topia

• You can click or use your arrow keys to navigate
• When you approach someone else in this world you'll be able to see and hear them
• You'll need to stay close to have a conversation though as when you walk away they'll disappear again.
• As you explore, notice when your cursor turns to a pointer. This indicates an object you can interact with by clicking.
• You can mute yourself or others by clicking the speaker icon (🔊) in the lower left corner of your video or theirs.
• You can click the globe icon (🌐) to find different worlds to explore during our online picket
• You can click the calendar icon at the left of your screen to see events happening in the

Computer Troubleshooting

If you start to have problems with lag in topia, there are a few troubleshooting tips to help

You might be too close to too many people! 9 videos are on a lot of some computers and internets while running topia. Ae advise you to

A) Turn off your camera by clicking the camera button in your video screen.

B)Move away from a few people

C) move to a quieter section/ world (we love one of the libraries for smaller groups!) or

D) Hop on zoom for the activities and come back and explore topia when its less busy!
