Life Groups

Spring Session 2019-Week 4 (2/24/19)

WELCOME - Greet your friends and welcome them to your gathering.

Scientists have put a man on the moon. They believed in it so they did it. Talk about something that you didn’t stop believing in until it came to pass. It could be going back to college for a degree, opening your first business, or getting out of debt. How did you ignore the distractions and doubts along the way?

Growing to be like Christ

  1. Read Isaiah 43:19-While God himself never changes, He is a God of change. He is always doing a new thing and works behind the scenes in our lives. Why do you think this scripture uses the words “roadway in the wilderness” and “rivers in the desert”?
  2. Read Hebrews 11:1-If faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not yet seen, why do you think it’s hard sometimes for people to believe before they see? What is an appropriate response from us to God in regards to faith?

  3.  Read Matthew 17:20-The power to get the impossible done starts with the ability to believe. Why do you think Jesus uses a very small seed versus a mountain that looks impossible to move to the natural eye?

  4.  Read Acts 17:31-The reason the disciples didn’t get up early and go on the third day is because they didn’t believe, even though Jesus was physically with them earlier and physically told them he would rise again the third day. Imagine you are one of the disciples that walked with Jesus and seen numerous miracles. After Jesus died why do you think they immediately doubted and became fearful and defeated?
  5.  Read Luke 24:5,6-The moment the angels said “remember how he told you while he was still with you in Galilee“, the women remembered Jesus’ words. Describe how Jesus has opened your eyes to something about Him that you didn’t previously know, appreciate or take into heart?

“It’s not the brightest people that change the world, it’s the ones that believe they can, that will!”
