Warrior News and Events

Warrior Values Recognition: Each semester our Instructional Leadership Team audits our staff to find students who are demonstrating the Warrior Values that we hold so dearly at Waubonsie.  This semester, we recognize the values of Accountability and Respect. Teachers have nominated students who demonstrate characteristics that underscore these values and we recognize these students at our Warrior Values Breakfast. Congratulations to these 50+ students! We appreciate your character and hard work and more importantly we recognize the impact you have on our school and students around you. Keep up the great work!

Student Parking  This is a friendly reminder to all student drivers to please be PATIENT, COURTEOUS  and KIND when exiting the lot at dismissal time.  Please do not cross over open parking areas to get into what looks like a "faster exit lane".  Please simply back out and follow the traffic flow for your row.  It would be KIND if you can let others back out into the traffic flow even if that allows another vehicle in front of you.  STAY SAFE!  STAY KIND:)!

Fall 2021 College Visits at Waubonsie Valley:  Each year College Representatives from more than 100 colleges and universities visit Waubonsie Valley during the school day to give presentations about their schools and to meet Waubonsie students. These visits are held in the College and Career Center, located in the cafeteria. Attending a college rep visit is a good way for students to gain information about a school he/she is potentially interested in to see if it would be a good fit and to get their questions answered. This is one way of building or narrowing a college list to decide which schools to visit and ultimately to which to apply. The representatives that visit Waubonsie are often members of the admissions team reading applications and making admissions decisions. Visiting with a representative is a great way to make a first impression and help stand out from other applicants. Students may login to SchooLinks with their student email and computer login to view and sign up for upcoming college visits.

.. Suggested questions to ask on a college visit!

Students may login to SchooLinks with their student Single Sign On to view and sign up for upcoming college visits. On SchooLinks, the visit calendar is updated as new visits are scheduled. Please check SchooLinks frequently!  Once you are logged in to SchooLinks, access a full list of scheduled visits by clicking on the "School Events" tab. Juniors and Seniors can sign up for college visits on SchooLinks or in the College and Career Center.

Distinguished Alumni Submission:  Warrior Community, It's that time of year where we ask our Warrior Community to nominate candidates for the WVHS Distinguished Alumni Recipient of the year. In February, WVHS will host our annual Indian Prairie Scholar Ceremony for the Senior Class of 2022. Each year at this award ceremony, the Waubonsie Valley High School administration also inducts our honoree for the Distinguished Alumni Award.  We would love for YOU to nominate a Warrior Alumni that you feel is deserving of the WVHS Distinguished Alumni award.  Nominations for consideration are accepted from staff, students, and community members. The candidate application information is collected via the completion of the survey at the link below. Applications must be complete in order for the candidate to be considered. Each application will be reviewed by the WVHS Instructional Leadership Team and the recipient will be determined as soon as possible. The chosen recipient will be notified by the end of January, 2022.  To submit an alumni for consideration, please be aware that candidates must have graduated prior to the year 2016. Self-Nomination is allowed and encouraged. Recipients of past years have a distinguished career in their chosen professional career and perhaps have contributed to the Warrior Community in some way (but not necessary).
