1. Why should I choose Haru?
PROS
Easy to be useful on
Very versatile
Very good waveclear
High damage potential
Future proof (Gets rebalances in KR)
Best Waifu
Very good SF management
Competitive
Cons
Expensive to buy certain fashions on
No self sustain
No team value (Her one and only teambuff sucks for the team and is only good for herself)
2. Skills
First Blade
Nice skill that gets used often and can be used to skip to the third row in your skill setup. Would max the base version of it and you can choose for yourself if you take the Soul Plus. However with enough cooldown 35ish I wouldn't use it anymore (though your decision is between this and Bladequake then).
Storm Blade
It's an ok skill. Gives you mobility, S-Armor break and a S-Armor like effect for some frames. You can use it but it's hard to use it correctly. Also is useful for phase skipping in your skill row due to its low cdr.
Whirl Blade
Nice Skill with very low Cooldown, that you use to push another skill in 3rd spot and deals decent dmg. definitely max this one.
Blow UP
This is the reason why you don’t need basic attacks. You just use this skill and get SF back for using skills. You can upgrade it as high as you want but I would recommend to AT LEAST put 1 point into it (would recommend maxing it later when you get the points from either First Blade or Bladequake back due to your cooldown being high enough)..
Blade Quake
A useful skill, that deals damage, breaks super armor and can stun the enemy.
Also in AOV (Endgame raid) it doesn’t apply the damage reduction buff to the boss.. I personally like it over Firstblade but you can decide if you wanna go for this or first blade when you reach about 30ish cooldown reduction.
Bladewall
Actually a good skill at a low level. Put 1 point into it at low level to clear monsters easier and later on use a skill reset ticket after you've hit advancement to skill it back. Because at a high level this skill just isn't needed. Haru has so many waveclear tools that this skill is just overkill.
Small Note: Can be useful in HH if you go into core often. If you do you can put 1 point into it.
Armor Slash
Just an amazing and simple skill. Does dmg, breaks super armor and is just nice to use. Definitely max this one.
Ground Pound
Amazing skill. High damage potential, good S-Armor break and very good AOE, just be wary of the minimum range of this skill. You wanna max it out and use the Soulplus on it (for faster leveling) but change it later on (with lvl 60) to the other soulplus.
Arena Storm
Awesome dmg buff, gives the caster 15% more overall dmg but the teambuff is useless. Would skill it to 5 but don’t choose any of the soul pluses, because they are both very useless.
Bolt Waltz
Amazing before advancement. Godly after advancement. Deals very much damage, has a high range, breaks S-Armor and Stuns. Just an Amazing Skill that you should definitely max out.
Slash n`Dash (Aerial Skill)
Before getting the Soulplus this skill is only decent … but after getting the Soulplus this skill is actually on fire (literally) it sets fire fields on the ground which do a dot (damage over time) that deals actually a very high amount of damage and might be Haru's highest DPS (Damage per second) Skill on her entire kit. Definitely max this one out.
Wind Rapture (Aka. Everything that stands before me will die)
This skill is so amazing I just can’t find enough superlatives to describe this skill. Experience this skill for yourself and you will love it forever. Definitely max this skill out. In my opinion the best Skill on Haru overall (With AOV Weapon atleast. It loses some strength with the HH weapon due to losing the 1000% DMG multiplier from AOV weapon.)
Rain of blades
This is your lvl 42 skill. 42 skills have the nice thing that they give you iframes (invincibility) against most things. On top of giving you a long iframe phase this also deals a ton of damage and has a fairly big AOE field. Definitely max this out !
Sword Dance (Aerial Skill)
Harus 2nd Aerial skill that combos very well with her first. Jump use Slash n`Dash, air dodge and immediately afterwards use this skill. Very nice little combo, which deals a lot of damage, breaks S-Armor and gets you to the ground fast again. Definitely max this skill out.
War of Blades
Amazing skill that does a lot of damage. Only downside is that it is a bit buggy and sometimes teleports you a bit. But regardless of that definitely max this skill.
Trollsverd
Good skill does a good amount of damage. Should definitely be maxed but be wary that you can’t dodge while using this skill and that the animation of this skill is kinda slow, so if you aren’t careful enough it could go bad for you especially in Hidden Hideout.
Small disclaimer about this skill after Desire worker: If you use this skill while having the Desire Nova activated it sadly has an a bit longer animation, then you're used to so be a bit more careful when you use this skill in raids like Hidden Hideout for one of the first times with Desire Nova activated.
PASSIVES
Basic Attack
You won’t really need it because you have Blow UP as your way to get SF. I personally wouldn’t put points into it.
Soul Strike
Isn't really needed so just leave it as it is.
Shadow roll
You can either leave it as it is for more iframes or max it for a faster dodge animation to be able to use skills quicker again, depending on what you need.
Sprint
You will be faster running if you max this ! And I would definitely max it.
Retaliation
You can skill it. It basically damages your opponent when you get up.
Elusion
It's basically a dodge after you get damaged to don’t get knocked down. I would definitely max it-
Whirl Jumpt
It's pretty useless in basically every dungeon. The only use it has is in the core phase for Hidden Hideout but there it is really strong. So if you go in there often feel free to put a point in i, otherwise don’t.
Endure
Very good. Helps you to regenerate stamina faster again would at least 4/5 it. If you have skill points over somehow you can also 5/5 it but it's considered not worth by most players.
Combat Will
Very good, definitely max this out.It gives you 500 attack damage for each 20 combo up to 5x. That means if you get a 100 combo, you will get 2500 attack damage extra for a whole 20 seconds (Though you can also get 5x a 20 combo technically to get to the 2500 atk dmg) !
Temeraire
Very good, definitely max this out since it gives you 6 Armor break and 15% ATK DMG (From Base).
.
Core Skill Layout:
This is basically what I think every Haru HAS to skill. Every further skilling can be altered though.
*Small Note: The 62 Skill “Trollsverd” is only skill able to 2 points in our version so once we get the update to be able to put 3 points in it you will of course put 3 in it !
Skill Layout:
This is my personal skill tree and skill layout for my Haru.
*This is only a recommendation I encourage everyone to try to find the best Skill build for himself.
Feel free to put it as you think it fits best for you !
Also as a small tip if you put 2x the same skill in the first 2 slots and another in the third, you can skip to the 3rd phase immediately, which allows you to skip the 8% cooldown bonus and go directly to the 15% cooldown bonus !
I choose cooldown as a chain bonus, so the high damage skills are earlier available again, which lets me use them more often. This essentially heightens the damage you can put out in a certain time, because you can use your hard hitting skills faster again.
4. Bonuses to look out for Haru
Boss DMG
Armor Penetration
Critical Hit
Cooldown Reduction
Crit dmg
Attack speed
5. Which Akashas to choose on Haru
Little disclaimer: I didn't include limited Akashas since they are a big scam!
1* Options:
Worker Ex Machina (S+ tier)
Very good normal mob clearing akasha especially on +2.
Baalride (S tier)
Very good normal mob clearing akasha especially on +2.
Shade (2* is better) (B tier)
Very good passive option to get some crit %
Black Gauntlet (2* is better) (B Tier)
Very good passive option to get some Attack speed (Stackable)
2* Options (Normal is ok but hidden is always better)
Black Gauntlet (S+ tier)
(Look at 1*)
Shade (A tier)
(Look at 1*)
Megiddons rage mk2 (S tier)
Very good Akasha for hard raids like AOV to get some extra Stamina but isn't needed anymore once you get Stamina regeneration DH Jewelry (at least as long as you wear it)
Skitter (A- tier)
Same as Megiddo Mk2 but would choose Megiddo over this. Only choose this if you really need more Stamina.
3* Akasha options
Leona (A+ tier)
If you use her you can't use Shade anymore but don’t be mad because she is better.
SFL Squad (C tier)
It's ok Akasha well you can use it if you have nothing else.
4* Akasha options
Rita (S+ tier) (if you need something to kill bosses fast)
Actually fairly good akasha for Innocent Daydream if you try to run records +2 her and use her when big plastica loses his invincibility for the best results.
Ava (B tier)
You go to Stamina card if you have her.
Haru (S Tier)
Even though Attack speed isn’t as good on Haru as it is on Stella or Erwin it helps you to do your skills faster and gives you an overall cleaner experience so Haru isn’t a bad choice also her movespeed is also quite the nice addition.
Erwin (S+ Tier)
Very good Akasha on Haru. Armor Break is always good.
Orca Commando (B+ Tier)
Ok atk speed akasha.
Shiho (S+ Tier)
Very very good akasha lets you use your Soulnova more frequently ! Especially good in Hidden Hideout. Would definitely recommend using her there.
Bashai Arua (S+ Tier)
If you don't have the 5* Version of Arua you definitely wanna use this one ! (You can't use both together though)
5* Akashas
Big Plastica (S+ Tier)
Very good Akasha for Skyclock palace,Primal and Innocent daydream BUT only on hidden +2 cause it can spawn a buff that lets you have 0 Cooldown on every skill FOR EVERY TEAMMATE.
900g Grutins(A tier)
Very good active Akasha at Primal or normal stage bosses for doing some decent damage to bosses but use another active 5 good 5 Star if you have.
Lupan S- Tier (only play if hidden)
So why do I rank this lower than mk2 despite it giving the same effect as mk2 and even some atk damage on top of it? Because the stamina regeneration it gives is lower as mk2 and most of the time won't cut what you may need and in case you play DH jewelry with Stamina regen, you won't need this or mk2 at all.
Lucy (S Tier on hidden, B Tier on normal)
Good passive Akasha for critical damage but only if she is hidden. In normal she has problems to proc which makes her actually quite bad.
Tenebris(S++ Tier)
Arguably the best Akasha in the game together with Veneris and Arua currently.
Veneris (S++ Tier)
Arguably the best Akasha in the game together with Arua and Tenebris currently.
Arua (S++ Tier)
Arguably the best Akasha in the game together with Veneris and Tenebris currently.
Small disclaimer: Depending on situations this Akashas can be worse than the tier I gave them. For example active Akashas are obviously not S+ tier in Villor. Also some Akashas are only S+ tier in their niche. For example Ave Machina is S+ tier for clearing mobs but you don’t wanna use it for anything else.
For AOV Solo I would for example use:
Tenebris/Veneris/Arua/Erwin/Black Gauntilus or MK2 depending on if you can play without mk2.
6. Common misconceptions on Haru/things that are often forgotten
Many people think Harus Arena storm is useless because of its text. It says it gives 15% ATK damage to the caster and 20% to everyone. In reality it gives 15% Overall damage (so if you deal 1.000.000 damage it deals 1.150.000 dmg for example) to the Caster and 20% Atk damage to everyone ( taken from base damage without eq,akasha etc on).
The Soul Nova has the same thing. It says it gives 15% ATK damage but it actually gives 15 % overall damage.(Please don't confuse Soulnova with Desire Nova now though, Desire Nova even gives more stats)
Many people forget Harus advancement passive when playing her. But it's very important to try to use it, because it gives you 500 attack damage for each 20 combo up to 5x. That means if you reach a 100 combo it gives 2500 !!!! Attack damage for free.
Many people have the wrong belief that it is bad to build attack speed on Haru. While it's true that Haru is the only character in the game that doesn't have a skill that scales with attack speed it doesn't mean it's a useless stat. It helps you to get your skills out faster and helps you to take advantage of high cooldown reduction numbers.
7. Brooches
SD Atk: Smelter
SD DEF: Lifeforce
SD Eff: Swift
__________________________________________________________________________________
BSK ATK: Smelter
BSK DEF: Hellcat, Bluff (Only on Tera if you're too broke for Hellcat)
BSK EFF: Ecstasy
__________________________________________________________________________________
FOT ATK: Bunker Siege
FOT DEF: Erosion,Ceasefire,Stability,Barricade
FOT EFF: Strategy/Reconnaissance
__________________________________________________________________________________
Assassin ATK: Brute Force/Impact(if your crit is low)/Raid (if your crit is low)/Sneaker (if your crit is low and only use under Tera)
Assassin DEF: Assassinate
Assassin EFF: Tactics
Disclaimer: It’s almost always better to use good mega brooches instead of bad Tera brooches. But that has to be decided about each case individually.
8. Soulstones and drives
It doesn’t matter which Soulstone you choose.
However, make sure to get 3 Slumbering Soulstones (at least 2x of the same element at +9, the 3rd can be +1 for some time but should be upgraded to +9 later) ASAP since they add a lot to your overall damage!
In the 4th slot, you should insert a critical damage drive. At best at least one with 200 crit dmg, but the higher the better. If you need accuracy to meet accuracy requirements for some dungeons, you can run an accuracy drive instead of a critical damage one.
For armor drives, you should aim for Boss damage drives (as high as possible for you) for attack and Stamina drives (as high as possible for you) for defense.
9. Allowed skills in AOV (During Debuff)
Small disclaimer: Only important out of solo ranking AOV.
Slash n Dash (Make sure you don’t air dodge afterwards since it can apply debuff too!)
Wind Rapture (Make sure you don’t stand near the boss otherwise you will apply the buff to the boss)
Bladequake
Bolt Waltz
10. Forbidden Skills in Hidden Hideout
80 HP Bars: Arena Storm & Blow UP
50 HP Bars: Rain of Blades & Slash n Dash
20 HP Bars: Arena Storm, Blow UP, Rain of Blades and Slash n Dash
11. Which high lvl gear (AOV onwards) to choose?
Altar of villor:
Weapon: 2 (Best possible stats: Armor Break, Boss Dmg, Crit dmg)
Armor: 1 (Best possible stats: Crit%,Crit DMG, Cooldown reduction)
Hidden Hideout:
Weapon: Hidden Hideout Weapon (Best possible stats: Armor Break, Boss DMG, Crit dmg/Crit%)
Armor: Extended Hidden Hideout set (Best possible stats: Crit%,Crit DMG, Cooldown reduction)
For Jewelry:
Dipluce Horizon jewelry is the best (lvl 62 jewelry) but it can be hard to meet the accuracy requirements for HH with it. (Important: DH Rings have to be good though: Stats: 8 Armor Break, 8 Boss dmg, 4 Cooldown reduction would be optimal)
AOV jewelry is the worst of the 3 but can be used as a cheap way to get to HH jewelry since it's easier to meet accuracy requirements for HH with it.
Hidden Hideout jewelry is kinda like a middle thing. Better stats than AOV Jewelry but worse than Dipluce Horizon jewelry. Could still be useful to use in HH since you don't need to sacrifice other stats to meet the accuracy requirements for it since it gives accuracy itself just like AOV Jewelry
TLDR: Dipluce Horizon jewelry is best dps wise, AOV is good to get to get to better jewelry, and HH jewelry is good for Hidden hideout.
