February 23rd (9a-3p ET) will be our first meeting at the GOISD Bergland location. This group has been formed in response to requests from several math instructors. Please encourage your MS and HS math instructors to join this collaborative event. Topics covered will include common curriculum, common assessments, and standards alignment. WUP MiSTEM & Michigan Tech CSEO to host STEM & Engineering Fair & Festival
Students in grades 4-8 are invited to conduct science and or engineering/invention projects and submit their work to compete in the Western U.P. Science and Engineering Fair at Michigan Tech’s Memorial Union Building (MUB). Save the date: Saturday, March 16th; time TBD. A weekend date was selected with the hopes of increasing student participation from Gogebic and Ontonagon Counties; I am looking to assist students and their families with transportation from both counties.
February 28th is the deadline to register!

GOISD STEM & Family Events
I am meeting with Megan to work on confirming GOISD district event dates.
An idea to solicit volunteers would be to investigate high school student availability and need for service hours. I am happy to reach out to local businesses and community organizations to request volunteers, too. Something to think about!
Ironwood STEM & Family Event—January 30th @ 4-7p CT
Ironwood is kicking off STEM & Family event within GOISD at the end of the month! We have 20 STEM activities planned, including a design competition.
