Nerfs are here!
The nerfs that were teased last week have hit
- Apotheosis
- Old: Give a minion +2/+3 and Lifesteal. → New: Give a minion +1/+2 and Lifesteal.
- Moving the buff down to +1/+2 to hit the card's general power and combo capabilities
- A slight reduction in the buff here should lessen that urgency and make the minions post-Apotheosis easier to deal with
- Samuro + Apotheosis combo: The punishment for playing minions into this combo is too much at the moment, so while we'd like to keep some of that tension of resource commitment, we don't want the punishment to be a full heal for the opponent
- Renew
- Old: [Costs 1] → New: [Costs 2]
- This change makes the largest impact towards curbing the chains of generation in Priest.
- At 2 mana, Renew has to be more thoughtful inclusion during deckbuilding, won't be generated by Wandmaker, and takes another mana reduction to get to 0
- While Priest's identity looks different in future expansions, we wanted to take this opportunity to reign in their card generation and build a better match experience for both players.
- Gibberling
- Old: [Costs 1] → New: [Costs 2]
- Gibberling is the cause of many "non-games", matches that are heavily lopsided in the early game and can have their outcome decided far too early
- Should result in many more games where opponents can respond to an early board of this little menace.

- Key moments
- Some of the fan theories about the third expansion of the year are very close
- They want to end the year of "Classic WoW in Hearthstone" with something exciting and they hope they hit that mark
- They have been researching more on AI for the future of Hearthstone
- The diverse player base of Hearthstone causes no true consensus within the community - especially true when you consider the different regions and even countries
- The size of Hearthstone's player base is so big that it can sometimes be hard to comprehend the numbers and is an enormous challenge
- They don't expect players to play every day forever, but they want new stuff available for when players return
- There are a huge number of players that enjoy the play style of Priest. Is it right that they can't play the way they want to play?
- They need to figure out that middle ground with how Priest plays. They don't want players fighting Priests to always feel bad.
- Leading raids in World of Warcraft also helped Ben in becoming a leader and talking to different types of people

Iksar’s AMAing Again
This should just be a segment at this point...
- The biggest missed opportunity with Hearthstone was launching without social systems
- They have talked about removing Legendary cards from Discover and other random effects.
- Dean thinks the real answer is to make less random generation and discover cards
- There has been some discussion about "deep sea" themes for an expansion. Maybe one day
- If showcasing matchmaking ratings for constructed would give people more enjoyment, they'd consider adding it
