FRHC eLearning FAQ

What is a eLearning Day?
- On an eLearning day students do not physically attend school. Instead, they use their iPad to access lessons and complete assignments provided by their teachers.
When will eLearning days happen?
- November 1, 2019 - Guaranteed elearning day for teacher professional development
- January 20, 2020 - Potential eLearning day for inclement weather make up.
- February 17, 2020 - Potential eLearning day for inclement weather make up.
- In the event of a school closing prior to February 17, 2017, FRHC plans to use January 20 and/or February 17 as make up days which will be conducted as eLearning days. Watch for updated from the school for more information should a make up day be needed.
How will the school take attendance for an eLearning day?
- Students are counted “Present” for attendance purposes by completing their assignments for that day.
Where should my students go to find eLearning lessons?
What if we don’t have internet at home?
- Students are allowed a window of time to complete lessons.
- This allows for students to get internet access or additional help, if needed, before the due date.
Who should we contact if we need help during the eLearning day?
- Teachers will have set office hours specifically for answering emails, messages or phone calls from students. Office hours will be published prior to each eLearning day.
- Individual teachers will have information on how to best contact them posted on their lesson.
- Additionally, you can call the Hope or Hauser office for additional help including technology troubleshooting.
Where can I go to get internet if I don’t have it at home?
Why did FRHC decide to utilize eLearning Days?
- Provide instruction during the school year for professional development or make-up days that is more meaningful than instruction on days that are added to the end of the year.
- Maximize opportunities for students to practice digital learning and online assessments.
- Offer students quality experiences with digital learning that is a part of the College & Career Readiness standards.
- Increase teacher capacity to design and deliver quality digital instruction.
- Continue to expand seamless learning delivered on days when school is not in session.
