Canvas- Instructor Zoom Connection Missing

If an instructor is getting an error connecting Zoom inside their Canvas account, follow this guide for help. This is a common error that we see. It requires a quick update to your Canvas email settings.

One thing to note: if you never have logged into your Zoom account, please do that first by following this guide. The connection to Canvas requires an active Lipscomb Zoom account.

How to Connect Canvas to Zoom

  1. Please login to Canvas using your computer browser.
  2. On the left side menu, look for your "Account", then in the pop-out menu, click "Settings".

  1. On your 'Settings' page, look in the upper right corner for "Ways to Contact".
  2. You should see your Lipscomb email address there. You likely have your regular username email listed there, jdoe@lipscomb.edu, and it likely has a star next to it.

  1. Click "+Email Address" and enter your alias email address there: First.LastName@lipscomb.edu (This may already be listed. If yes, skip to step 7.)
  2. It will send a confirmation email to your Lipscomb email account. (It can take a bit, so be patient)
  3. Once confirmed, you should set the alias email account as the 'favorite' by clicking the star next to the new alias email address you just added.
  4. Then logout of Canvas, and then back in. It should connect your Zoom account now.
