Welcome back to 2018 at Anchorage Park School! I hope that you all had a relaxing time with your family over the Christmas holidays and are ready for another wonderful year at Anchorage Park School. A very special welcome to our new students and whānau.
I am very excited to be the new principal and join the Anchorage Park School family. Lynne Keohane will be greatly missed by our whole school community but luckily for us she’s not far away and plans on keeping in touch on a regular basis!
Our school staff have spent two days together this week planning and organising for 2018. Educating our tamariki is a shared responsibility between staff, students and whānau so our mantra this year is:
Ehara taku toa i te toa takitahi.
Success is not the work of one but the work of many.
This hot, humid summer reminds me how lucky we are to have a school pool which maintains a temperature between 22-26 degrees. All children need to bring named togs, towel and goggles (optional) in a plastic bag or swimming bag everyday. Not only is this a great form of exercise for our children, but it’s also a fantastic way to keep cool on these sticky days.
