2019 Summer Edition STEM PTO Newsletter

Thank you, our STEM Parent Community, for coming together in support of one another over the past several weeks.  We are so incredibly grateful for you.  So many of us helped to ensure our students were able to participate in many of the ceremonious activities planned for the end of the 2019 school year.  We also poured our love and support out for one another. From creating teacher care packages to helping handout 2,300 t-shirts, your time and energy was inspiring.  Organizing gatherings in the park to opening your homes to help students gather, your generosity is limitless.

Because of you, our STEM Community IS #STEMstrong!  #loveunites #stemunites

We are so proud of our STEM students and want to take a moment to celebrate them.  Our students gathered and supported our Senior graduating class of 2019 at the Graduation Ceremony at Dove Valley.  Our Kindergarten Class of 2032 celebrated the end of their first year of elementary school.  Our 6th and 7th graders gathered together in celebration of their last day of school, and the ‘Welcome to High School’ party took place in the park for our High School community, despite the cold and rain.  We are forever grateful to so many students and parents who organized year end parties for all grades so students could gather outside of school.

From our entire STEM PTO Board, we want to thank you for showing each other and the world how STEM UNITES and STEM is STRONG!

Thank you to our incredible teachers and staff for their quick response and professionalism amidst a crisis our school prepares for, with the hope of never having to act upon.

We are so grateful to our First Responders of DCPD, Firefighters, Red Cross, North Ridge Recreation Center, our local hospitals, Colorado Crisis Services and many others in our community that were so quick to act on behalf of our school, we cannot thank you enough.

Thank you to everyone who donated their talents or items this past year!  We couldn’t have done it without you!

Printing Done Quickly (PDQ) worked so hard to ensure our STEM Community got what we needed within minutes of our requests.  They also donated 10,000 STEM Strong Bracelets, 15+ large vinyl signs, graduation materials, signs for teacher boxes, 10,000+ stickers, sold yard signs at cost to the public and gave the PTO several to spread around the community and school.  We are stunned by their generosity and support and so fortunate to have amazing partners in our community.

Mission Hills Church gave a generous donation towards partial payment for our #STEMSTRONG T-shirts that were given to every student, teacher and to many of our volunteers and First Responders.  They opened their doors so many times in  these past weeks for our parents and students.  They provided us a safe space for memorials, counseling, gatherings and t-shirt distribution.  They even came on their days off and they stayed to help clean-up.  Thank you, Mission Hills Church, for your kind generosity.

IMS Printing

We are blessed to partner with IMS Printing who helped get 2,500 t-shirts in the hands of our students within 4 days.  They even ensured our expecting principal had a maternity shirt to wear.  When our parents wanted their own shirts, IMS Printing ensured we had 5500 more shirts available within a week.  IMS also helped get 300 carabineers for our Senior class as a gift from STEM and PTO.

We are focusing on end of year activities and desperately need pictures. Please see instructions below to contribute pictures.

A huge thank you to our STEM neighbors who united with us immediately; from taking in students the day of,  handing out snacks, coats, and any other needs.  Thank you to all the businesses and neighbors who opened up parking space so parents were able to walk students in and out and helped our students be shielded from the media by posting “No Media” signs. We are humbled by your generosity and graciousness in our time of need.

Thank you! Thank you! Thank you STEM families! You all came out in a big, big way for our teachers and staff this year! While Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week was cut short, our teachers and staff still felt the love so deeply. During the past few weeks, this has meant so much to those who are the core of our STEM Family. Our STEM teachers and staff expressed their deep gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, and appreciation during this time, but also for Teacher/Staff Appreciation. Between the gift cards and gift donations, you all helped to make a phenomenal difference in the way we were able to send off our teachers/staff into their summer vacations.

Along with our families, we would like to thank the following Teacher/Staff Appreciation Week community donors who gave items or gift certificates to give to our Teacher/Staff:

Pt Level (Platinum) $500

Au Level (Gold) $250

Ag Level (Silver) $125

CuSn Level (Bronze) $50
