Saying WWIII is going to happen is ridiculous (saying Iran will start it is at least)

We’re going to use logic in this argument. I don’t need to use facts and statistics because they’re simply unneeded. So sit back, relax, and enjoy our logical tromp through what some say will be the beginning of WWIII.

We’ll do a little summing up of current events for those of you in the future and those you living under rocks. The Trump administration is currently going through a tumultuous time with impeachment and his escalating and de escalating tensions with North Korea but the highlight of his first term is what happened a couple of days ago: Qasem Soleimani was assassinated, killed in an airstrike however you want to say it, he’s dead. This came as a shock to many but isn’t very surprising when you take into account how strange things have been between the US and Iran since Trump became president. This is in the past though, so what about today?

Tehran can’t afford a war and neither can Washington. The Iranian government is not in any position to hold a long war, it will be a hard one more akin to a Vietnam than a Grenada. The Iranians have a strong national muslim and national identity but a war with the US would destroy the hold the government currently has and that’s really all that’s needed for the US to claim victory or to at least weaken the area enough to end their sponsored terrorism and current role as a power in the middle east.

The people of the USA aren’t looking for another costly Middle Eastern war but the president might (emphasis on the might). Trump is going through the impeachment, which will only help him with Republicans and even pushes forward the victim narrative further than anyone could have ever imagined, mostly because it’s partially true but that’s not the focus of this essay, probably won’t ever be either. His reelection is going to be heavily partisan, with moderates really being the deciders, like always but it seems like even more so this time around, with the pool of partisans being fewer because he’s such a polarizing figure. You’re either on the “Trump train” or on a completely different platform. Although, He’s fairly unpredictable when it comes to most things, his social policy has been the opposite of small government, personal freedom and his promise to get out of the middle east is almost as bad as Nixon promising peace with honor and taking till ‘73 to take all the troops out. The reelection will be difficult and he’ll need to prove himself before the campaign starts, starting a war with Iran will make him look better for that reelection but only if it’s done correctly and the US looks like a victim. The Iranians declaring revenge is the perfect opportunity for a phony attack on our own. An even better gulf of Tonkin. It’s still doubtful that his administration would try something like this though and them saying that he was planning terrorist attacks and training fighters is correct, the fighters are at least. This might even do what Trump said it would, “a punch in the nose” would be amazing for him politically but only time will tell.

In conclusion saying Iran will start a war is ignorant and discredits a regime that is pretty smart overall but hey I could always be wrong.
