Meeting called to order by Haley Schober at 6:50pm

• Announcements 

• Welcome guests and new members - 4 new members and guests
• 4th quarter Challenge - Holiday Throw Pillow

• 18”-20” quilted throw pillow cover in a fun holiday design
• Can be zipper closure or envelope closure
• Cover only

• Block Lotto for October

• Free pattern available at https://www.diaryofaquilter.com/patchwork-pumpkin-quilt-block-and-table/
• Every entered block gets you an entry to win all blocks

• Sew Days

• Will remain virtual for the foreseeable future.

• Will have zoom calls on Thursdays and Saturdays through the month of September and October. Will also add two Fridays a month.

• Quilt Jacket Workshop

• November 6th at Westside Community Center
• 4 patterns to choose from
• Will be making a muslin version to practice
• Google signup form will go out later this month
• class space will be limited

• Retreat signups

• October 1st-3rd in Winterset, IA
• Still have 10 spaces open
• $65 for members
• $85 for non members
• Required to book your own hotel

• 2022 membership renewals will start in November

• Community Engagement Quilt

• Janelle Vogler is the Community Engagement Chair
• Design created by Heather Akerberg and Stephanie Jacobson
• Fabrics were cut and separated into block groups on 7/6/21
• Bags to be distributed now and are due by October meeting.
• Unfinished blocks will be made at the October retreat
• Quilt top to be pieced by Beth Salistean
• Quilt to be quilted by Shauna Smith

• Quilt Donation for Afghan Refugees

• Quilts collected to be sent to Heritage Threads in Utah
• Will be collecting quilt through the weekend to mail around 9/13/21.
• Will be accepting donations until then to help pay for the shipping expense
