A peek at our week:

In class, math groups are continuing to focus on place value of numbers and starting to explore multi-digit addition and word problems. In ELA students are learning how to write a personal narrative and working in book clubs. Mrs. Lorenz’s class will begin to study the nature of energy in science. Mrs. Squillace’s class will begin map skills in social studies. Mrs. Swentik’s class will start project-based learning. Remote learners should continue to check Google classroom for math, ELA, and social studies/science activities each day.

• I can add multi-digit numbers using the standard algorithm and solve word problems using a tape diagram to model my thinking.
• I can write a narrative based on real or imagined experiences.
• I can edit my writing for capitalization, punctuation, and spelling.
• I can describe a character, setting, or event from a story using details from the text.
• I can effectively participate in different types of discussions with different types of people.
• I can locate the continents and oceans on a map. (4Sq)
• I can explain that energy can be transferred and that speed & energy are related. (4L)
• I can  explain what a national park is and history behind the national park system. (4SW)

Phase 1 schedule:

Reminder:  Cohort 1 (A-L) On-site Monday and Tuesday. Remote learning: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.

Cohort 2 (M-Z) Remote Learning: Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday. On-site learning: Thursday and Friday.

Office Hours:

Office hours are 11:00-12:00 each Wednesday. Attendance is not required.
