Rapid Response to Positive COVID-19 Test
Should any member of a training group test positive for COVID-19:
We encourage families to self-report COVID-19 symptoms or exposure, or a confirmed case of COVID-19, respect all individuals' right to privacy and therefore will not ask for or disclose any personal information about your family or participant.
The athlete will be asked to refrain from training.
Group training may be suspended, and all group members placed in self-isolation.
The Covid Response Coordinator will contact the appropriate health authority for further action if required from the club.
SHA will be contacted, and direction will be taken from SHA regarding next steps, further testing, and contact tracing.
The Response Coordinator will document any communication or action outlined by Saskatchewan Health Authority ensuring the privacy of all individuals.
Any group that has no contact with the positive test group will continue training, however anyone who lives in the same household of a member of the self-isolating group will not be permitted to train.
After a positive test for COVID-19, training in a group shall resume if:
All group members undergo a 14-day self-isolation period and no other member has developed symptoms; or
10 days if they have any core symptoms that are not related to a pre-existing illness or health condition.
All group members are cleared by their doctor to return to group training in accordance with SHA guidelines.
Returning to Training after being tested for COVID-19
If you are tested for COVID-19, please follow these guidelines as outlined by Saskatchewan Health Authority.
Swimming Canada / Swim Alberta Waiver
The Swimming Canada / Swim Alberta Waiver is no longer required to join a swim club. By registering for swimming as of May 2021, you are accepting the approved policies and procedures of the Lloydminster Rebels, in cooperation with Alberta Summer Swimming, Swim Alberta and the City of Lloydminster.
Safe Sport
All efforts should be made to ensure that Open and Observable environments are maintained at all times. Open and observable environments mean making meaningful and concerted efforts to avoid situations where a coach, official or other representative might be alone with an athlete and/or vulnerable individual. All interactions between an athlete and an individual who is in a position of trust should normally, and wherever possible, be in an environment or space that is both “open” and “observable” to others.
Open and Observable environments also apply to online communication. All forms of electronic communication (email, text, Zoom, Skype, etc.) should never be in the form of a one-on-one interaction and should always be done in a group setting. Training sessions should include a minimum of 3 people.
