Using Internet Mapping Software and GPS Units

Due to the way both Internet based mapping software and GPS units view road networks, both will often give directions that are erroneous because they attempt to use old mining roads within the Cuyuna Country State Recreational Area that are closed to the public or no longer passable.  Please use the following latitude/longitude as your destination for internet mapping software and GPS units.  This location is the intersection of County Road 30 and North Road at the entrance to the Miner’s Mountain Rally Center.

Location:  46.481391°N, 93.979317°W

Rental Mountain Bikes and Equipment

Race Parking

The start/finish line, racer check-in and associated items are located at the Miner’s Mountain Rally Center, the main parking lot for access to the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Trails.  It is located at the heart of the Cuyuna Country State Recreational Area (CCSRA), off County Road 30.  It is just north of Ironton, MN.  See page 10, for directions to the Miner’s Mountain Rally Center.

All these areas within biking distance to the Miner’s Mountain Rally Center.  There is no shuttle service provided.  Please factor in the time required to go from the parking locations below to the start/finish line.

Miner’s Mountain Rally Center Parking Lot

North and South Parking

The Miner’s Mountain Rally Center has 96 total parking spaces in the north and south parking lots, however only the south parking lot will be available for parking, meaning a total of 48 spaces will be available at the Rally Center.  The boat launch parking is not available for racers.  We always suggest carpooling and parking within the towns of Ironton or Crosby and biking to the Rally Center.  Due to the number of racers at the Teravail Oremageddon, other parking is required.

Miner’s Mountain Road Parking

There is parking available on the south side of the Miner’s Mountain Road exiting the Rally Center.  If the upper and lower Rally Center Parking lots are full, you will be directed to turn around through the invasive species wash and proceed along the Miner’s Mountain Road to a location to park.

Parking Note:

Miner’s Mountain and the Miner’s  parking lots are the preferred locations to park for all attendees and spectators for the Teravail Oremageddon.

The Crew values the safety of all that come to our events.  Both of these locations provide the safest parking and unloading locations possible.  These should be the two “go to” locations for parking.

Racer Nutrition and Hydration

Nutrition and hydration  are available at several locations during and after the race.

North Rally Center -- This station will be manned with volunteers.  It is located as racers pass just north of the Rally Center on the new section of Rolly Polly.  There will be a marked pull out site with a table for water.  You can also use this as a bottle staging and drop site.

South Rally Center -- This station will be manned with volunteers at the end of the 25 miler lap and the midpoint for 50 milers.  There will be water, energy drinks, flat Coke, bananas, shot blocks, and peanut butter sandwiches.

Main Nutrition Station - Once racers have completed the Teravail Oremageddon, please head to the picnic pavilion for a quick nutrition stop.  There will be yogurt, granola, bananas, water, bagels, cream cheese, oil, and vinegar (subject to change).

Crew Partner Maucieri’s will have a food truck at the Rally Center throughout the event for spectators and racers once they finish.

There are also unmanned water stations at the exit of Boot Camp and the Yawkey parking lot.  Bottled water will be available at these two locations.  You may also use these as bottle staging and drop sites.

Racer Warm-up and Equipment Checkup Area

The Demo trail is designated as the racer warm-up and equipment check area.  This trail is relatively short, approximately 0.80 miles in length and includes small downhill and uphill sections.  The purpose of riding this trail is to check equipment (brakes, tire pressure, shifting, etc.) before a race and to get used to the trail conditions one will experience in the race.

Demo was the birthplace of the Cuyuna Lakes Mountain Bike Trails. It is called Demo Trail not in honor of the word "Demolition" but "Demonstration."  This trail was hand built by the Cuyuna Crew prior to the 25 miles of single track being built.  You are riding on history, take it all in!

This trail is for warm-up and is not the race.  Please be attentive and careful as you make your way around the Demo Trail and allow others to pass you, where possible, or wait to pass other racers where possible.

To get to the Demo Trail, follow the directional signage from the start and finish line.

The warm-up and equipment check area will be closed approximately 15 minutes before the racer meeting.

FOR EMERGENCIES WHERE A VOLUNTEER IS NOT VISIBLE: CALL 911 IMMEDIATELY

Note: For severe mechanicals or minor injuries any volunteer can call the sag wagon.  The Mountain Bike Patrol will also be on the trails to assist you.
