- BAND BOOSTER UPDATE -
Word has it that Punxsutawney Phil did not see his shadow earlier this month, suggesting we may be blessed to have an early spring! I don’t know about you, but sometimes I’m ready for a change, especially if that change includes warmer weather, spring flowers, and more sunshine!!!
THE TIMES THEY ARE A-CHANGIN’
Whether seasons or songs, it seems change is everywhere. The same is true for the Boosters in this season. As we lead up to the close of another school year, it is time to begin planning for the next one. To that end, the Boosters have several opportunities for you to become engaged in a new way and to bring your skills, knowledge, and expertise to share. Please consider one of the following and notify us at Board@daviehighbands.org with your interest:
ANOTHER SUCCESSFUL DEWEY’S STORE FUNDRAISER
Thanks to all the many volunteers – parents, grandparents, and other friends of the band and our students – the Dewey’s store netted the band just over $15,000! These funds will be used to purchase much needed instruments in the coming days. A special thank-you goes to Wendy and John Gallimore who led the Dewey’s team and did much of the heavy lifting to ensure store operations ran smoothly. Thank you also to Parker and Parker Attorneys who donated their location on Main Street to house the store! Finally, we are thankful to live in a community who demonstrates their support when they shop locally. Many made additional donations or purchased band paraphernalia as a show of support. We couldn’t have done it without all of you!
OUTSTANDING BAND FEES
Please be sure that your student or students have paid any and all outstanding (see FAQ's on the band website for questions). EVERY student, regardless of which band, is required to pay a $30 fair share fee. Marching band students have additional fees and scholarships are available if needed.
SUPPORT THE BAND WHEN YOU SHOP HARRIS TEETER OR AMAZON

As of this week, Davie High School has 24 students in All-District Band, a record number, nine (9) of whom are All-State eligible! These kinds of results thoroughly underscore the excellence of our band directors throughout the county and our music program as whole. Priceless!!
