PT Conferences August 21 Instead of Back to School Night
At the end of the school year, you will receive a letter in the mail indicating your child’s homeroom teacher for next year as well as a scheduled PT conference time to meet with your child’s teacher the day before school starts. This conference will take place of the back to school night we’ve done in the past. During this conference, your child will be able to bring their school supplies and you will be able to share information with your child’s homeroom teacher.

New Staff for 2019-2020 School Year

*Mrs. Cecilia Marquez will be joining our team next year as our ESL teacher for fourth, fifth, and sixth grade.

*Mrs. Allie Balog will be joining our 2nd grade team.

What to Expect at the Beginning of Summer Break

The staff has worked very hard to create class lists for the 2019-2020 school year. The elementary staff worked hard to make sure we place students with the teacher that works best with your child as well as made sure students who do not work well together are separated. I have taken the input I received into consideration and have made changes to lists, which will be finalize at one our next late start Mondays. At the end of every school year, we send home your child’s report card in the mail. Within that mailing, you will find an additional letter indicating who your child will have for the 2019-2020 school year as well as a time to conference with your child’s teacher during the day on August 21st. If the time does not work, please call the office to try to reschedule.

3rd/4th Grade Change for 2019-2020

Dear Families,

First of all we would like to thank you for the opportunity to be a part of your students’ educational journey.  As the school year comes to a close there are some exciting changes coming for the 2019-2020 school year.

Next year (2019-2020), 3rd and 4th grade will no longer departmentalize between four teachers.  Instead, we will departmentalize between two teachers as separate grade levels.

We have thought long and hard about this decision.  We have made a conscious effort to find ways to further teach and engage our student in their social emotional needs. We feel by having two teachers for each grade, we will have more time to build relationships and meet social and emotional needs with our students.

We are excited about this change for our students.  If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please let us know.

Activities and Athletic Events Home and Away

If you and your family are attending an event at the school please make sure your child is with you at all times. Students should be sitting in the seats, bleachers, or stands with their parents and not running around, playing on the equipment, playing in the commons area, or other areas.  

Thank you for helping make sure all kids are safe during events and activities.

Cell Phones And Electronic Devices

Just a reminder that our cell phone/electronic device policy still remains.

Electronic devices - Cell phones, Ipods, MP3 Players, game boys, etc. must be turned off and left in backpacks between the hours of 8:00am-3:40pm.  Electronic devices may be utilized as part of an educational activity when instructed by the classroom teacher. Electronic device are not allowed at recess, they are to be turned off and left in a student’s backpack during the school day.

We know there are smart watches now and we expect that they not be used for texting, taking pictures, playing games, etc. during the day.
