NOTES:

ALWAYS LEAVE NO TRACE
1. Plan ahead and prepare. Know the regulations and special concerns. Prepare for weather, hazards. Schedule your trip to avoid times of high use. Visit in small groups, split larger groups up.

2. Travel and camp on durable surfaces. Includes established trails and campsites. Camp 200 feet from lakes and streams. Good campsites are found, not made. Naturalize tent sites by littering them with brush and branches afterwards.

3. Dispose of waste properly. Deposit solid waste in cathole 6 - 8 inches deep, at least 200 feet from nearest water source. Includes seasonal water sources. Pack out toilet paper and hygiene products. Use soap and other products 200 feet from water and scatter.

4. Leave what you find. Do not remove plants, artifacts, or anything else.

5. Minimize campfire impacts. Use established fire rings. Keep fires small, and use small materials to burn. Burn all fires to ash.

6. Respect wildlife. Observe animals from a distance. Never feed them. Store food and trash securely. Control pets, or leave them at home.

7. Be considerate of other visitors. Be courteous. Yield to other visitors on trail. Take breaks and camp away from other visitors.
