BCMC Training Reimbursement Policy
To be eligible for a training reimbursement from the BCMC an individual must have volunteered for one of the BCMC programs (ie Rock or Ice Program) in the past two years.
Trainings are eligible for reimbursement if they provide skills that will add value to one of the BCMC programs. Skills can add value either directly via new skills to offer or indirectly by creating more knowledgeable volunteers and instructors that will enrich the overall program experience and/or create a safer learning environment. Reimbursable trainings include but are not limited to:
For trainings under $500 there will be a reimbursement of 50% of the training cost for AMC members and 40% of the training cost for non members. For trainings over $500, reimbursement will be handled on a case by case basis.
Reimbursement is limited to the training itself and does not include travel, lodging, rental equipment, or instructor gratuity. A receipt for the training is required for reimbursement.
Individuals should request pre-approval for trainings. Reimbursement will be paid out upon successful completion of the training.
The BCMC reimbursement budget is set at the beginning of the year as a portion of the overall BCMC annual budget. This budget will be divided into two 6 month buckets. Each will be spent on a first come first serve basis. Any money left over from the first 6 months will be rolled over into the next 6 months.
First come first serve applies only to the first reimbursement for each individual. A second reimbursement in a 6 month period will be put on a waiting list until the end of the period to allow for others to get reimbursed. At the end of the 6 month period, reimbursements will be given to those on the waitlist in the order they were received while funds for the period remain.
In the event of an individual requesting two reimbursements in a 6 month period and all of the funds for the 6 months being spent the individual will be put on the waiting list for the next 6 months.
