4:30-4:45 | 15 | Welcome Admin Updates (Leila) - Field Day
- Holi Festival and Nowruz
- Every 2 weeks after the break
- Outdoor learning grant- update (working group Pam Ritchie, Laura and Christine already exists)
| Health Updates: No new Covid cases in the last week. Sending home 2 test kits to everyone in the school tomorrow. - 1 is specifically to save for returning to school after the break.
- Even to kids who recently had COVID
Air Filters need to be cleaned- what’s the guidance? Is someone supposed to be vacuuming them?
Masks continue, classes are still distanced.
Field Day: Each grade had a day, and field day events were held in the school yard and also afternoon playtime and lunch in the park
Looking at the week before science week. Each grade would have a day, and there would be one day that is a rain date, any class that gets rain date.
- Could lower grades go closer?
- Possible to go to Vanderbilt playground, would need to check on permits for picnic
- Permit vs. no permit in terms of reserving a spot
In School Assemblies - Lunar New Year, whole school in the school yard
- Working with Sarah Sheers re: Holi Festival and Nowruz
PTA Updates: - Canceled this week, but will be back during the break so people can test before coming back, and thinking about every two weeks to start
- Drumming assembly and author visits
- Readathon in full swing
- Edukit planning beginning in March
- Tomorrow the PTA will be voting on a second recess coach
Equity Team Updates: - Kids on the committee have been doing morning announcements for black history month (4th and 5th grade)
- Each grade/class is working on doing a quilted timeline project, pieces in every classroom, and a mosaic type insulation at the entry, also planning on doing a mural there later in the year
- Last week was a lot of different equity team meetings between district wide, students, and parents.
- Today was the first meeting of the rainbow alliance for 4th and 5th grade students.
Outdoor Learning Grant Update: - Focused on field trips, 15k for outdoor learning things. May discuss in breakout room

- Leila | Science Week Breakout 1- Is there funding for the supplies from the PTA? - Astronaut: Victor J. Glover (Thursday?)

- Stickers
- Teachers can plan to show the video when it works for their daily schedule
- Thrust project (string, balloon, paperclip). Can be on other days.

- Egg drop (Friday?)
- Virtual Visiting Scientist (Monday?)
- One per grade (6)
- Kids prepare questions, and come up to computer to ask
- A demonstration of what they do.
- Need to ask parent volunteers
- Anthony also has friends :)
Reso A Breakout Room 2 - Capital improvement grant. In the past technology carts
- Another thing could be to update the electric in the building, most classrooms only have 1-2 outlets
- Suggestion: Updating the playground, climbing structure or rock wall
- Maybe a bleacher for more assemblies outside for outside
- Could there be more basketball hoops
- Suggestion: The bathrooms- participatory budgeting proposal
- There will be more picnic tables and benches purchased with school budget money
