This is a work in progress

You may get surprised about the variety of

vampires in this world, some of them can't be

touched by sunlight, while others walk among

us  without you to even suspect. Some are

small and other... gigantic.

Assimilation

This type is the most peculiar of all, it survives by trapping small to tib sized and red-blood organisms and fusing them to its body, increasing in size and also stealing some of their DNA in the process.

They begin their lives as small biped creatures with a tongue that can stretch like the chameleon's one. Sharp and strong claws. First they go around capturing small animals and growing like the common of the predatory organisms. When it is big enough, about three foot tall, it chooses a spot to go underground and waits for  animals to come across with it. It’s bite eventually numbs the body of its victim enough to not be able to fight and set itself free. Slowly the vampire fuses his bloodstream with the prey and the rest of its body becoming bigger.

Is astonishing that the main creature often is able to control the body of its prey and use it as an extension to hunt.

Mutative

Most of the time a vampire can transform another creature, and just as happens with complex organisms, the combination of two or more variants of an individual leads to a new different one. This is greatly convenient for the species because where some vampires can not survive, others will.

Animals and persons may even combine, if an animal is bitten by a vampire that once was human, the first may obtain physical and mental features from the second. If not interesting enough, there have been many cases where  a person becomes more like an animal in the mental side, and no, is not only about becoming more aggressive. There is a peculiar specimen that exemplifies this at perfection.

He´s known as Alfus. Named like this by the woman who found him in the savannah. Unable to speak or even comunicate in any complex way, is believed has spent at least some decades in the wild, hunting down animals, taking away their blood and leaving the rest for the scavengers. Doesn't see humans as a main source of nutriment but either would think it twice if sees an opportunity.

As you may have thought, there should be other "intelligent" species in this world. So far we have the humans, vampires, abhay and an extensive group of the so called "anthropomorphs".  All have their peculiarities when the vampire virus infects them. But for this first release I will comment about what happens with the abhay, in general. They cannot transform anymore into their warrior form, but in most of cases they  retain their wings. Powers are lost except for one, still we are not sure about how one from the 2 that abhay have prevails. Darikson Saravia is the best example of it.

Bloody skin

For reasons still not clear, some vampires develop red and black coloration on their skin, giving them an insane appearance of perpetual bleed and injuriement. For the very few cases registered, transformation following ultra-violent events may lead to this condition.

Feeding

When it comes to live by drinking other's blood and being bigger than a mouse, things are complicated. First, your prey has to be much larger and won't want you to kill it ( there are always exceptions, though). A common feature among vampires is their narcotic saliva, this has a sedative that at first will make the pain of the wounds to fade, an accelerated cardiac rhythm will spread it faster causing victim to feel weak until falling unconscious. But guess what? The vampire may have not drank all its blood yet (Read description to know more). That bite had something else in it and the blood is now dividing between  the plasma and the actual important nutrients in it. If you have seen this in test tubes you will understand.  Many vampires know that hanging its prey can help to obtain it easily.

They can get "untreated" blood too but is not the most efficient way to survive.

Reproduction

These are the most complex creatures, they reproduce asexually, like bacterias. But in an extremely slow
