Would you be willing to set aside some time on September 12 to emphasize Western Reformed Seminary in your prayers?
Would you be willing to ask your church to pray for WRS as well?
The Lord is so good and has blessed WRS in so many ways. He has kept us faithful to his Word. He has enabled us to train pastors and Christian workers who are now serving him faithfully throughout the world. He has provided abundantly for our faculty and staff. Please join us in thanking our great God for all his blessings.
Here are a few requests for you to bring before the throne of grace:
1. A school year in which faculty and students grow in the grace and knowledge of Jesus Christ (the school year began Sep. 4th with about 20 students enrolled);
2. The Lord’s continued protection over the faculty and staff in the pursuit of faithfulness rather than innovation;
3. The Lord’s blessing upon the ministry of our alumni;
4. That the Lord would raise more men in the Bible Presbyterian Church who are called to the pastoral ministry;
5. Financial provision for the seminary;
6. The Lord’s provision of a building/facility where we can fully house our library.
Thank you for praying for us. WRS exists to assist the Bible Presbyterian Church and other Reformed and conservative, Bible-believing churches, in training their ministers, missionaries, and other Christian workers. Thank you for helping us further our mission. May the Lord bless you beyond what you can ask him or even imagine.
Fall registration is on August 31st and classes commence on September 4th. The final day for late registration is September 24th.
This fall 2018, Western Reformed Seminary is pleased to announce that we are offering our course on the Pentateuch free of charge for any active duty service member. Additional costs may be incurred for purchasing of textbooks or course notes. This course offering will be held on Thursdays at 6:30pm PST from September 6th - December 13th.
Additionally, we are offering a tuition free audit for our live-feed video broadcasting of General Epistles. A $10 technology fee applies. This course offering will be held on Mondays at 2:30pm PST from September 10th - December 10th.
We at WRS were excited to share in the graduation of three exemplary men on June 4, 2018, at the Olympia Bible Presbyterian Church. Luuk Vandeweghe was a dual major graduating with both an M.Div. and an M.B.S.; Chee Cheong Mok and Christopher Owen Stanley both graduated with an M.Div.
2017 has been a year of change for Western Reformed Seminary. In addition to moving to our new location at 9152 Gravelly Lake DR SW Lakewood, WA 98499, this year was also marked by a change at president. Early this year Dr. John Battle, the seminary's founding President, announced that he would be retiring from his long standing position and taking a reduced role in the every day administration of the school. At the 81st General Synod of the Bible Presbyterian Church the Seminary Board announced that they had decided to call Pastor Tito (Tee-Too) as the school's second President.
At this years convocation in September President Lyro shared his vision for the future of the school along with his passion to see the Bible Presbyterian Church grow with a Biblically equipped leadership. Below are videos of announcement of President Lyro as the new President of WRS and his convocation speech.
Friends of WRS,
We are pleased to announce that our fall classes will be held in our new leased location in Lakewood. Please continue to pray for us as we continue to settle into the new building and work through preparations to have the classroom and offices complete for classes beginning on September 5th, 2017.
Stay tuned for an open house to be scheduled sometime in October 2017, Lord willing.

Good Progress at ARTS Meeting
Earlier this month representatives from Bible-believing Reformed seminaries met in Greenville, South Carolina. For over ten years WRS has been a member of the Association of Reformed Theological Seminaries, an agency that mutually investigates and recognizes Reformed seminaries.
Currently ARTS is preparing to be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation, the main private organization that approves of accreditation organizations like ARTS. We are working and praying for the goal of being recognized by CHEA in 2018. Leading this effort is Steve Adamson, the Executive Director of ARTS. If CHEA recognizes ARTS, then WRS will be fully accredited.
Please pray with us for good success with this project!
