Racial Equity Tools is designed to support individuals and groups working to achieve racial equity. This site offers tools, research, tips, curricula and ideas.

Designs and implements equity-centered research, trainings, organizational assessments and organizational solutions in collaboration with government agencies and organizations.

Services include convenings, working sessions, coaching, and partner trainings designed to shift mindsets, practices and systems in the social sector to increase race equity.

This guide explores the concept of cultural competency in health care. It offers seven recommendations for improving cultural competency in health care organizations: Collect race, ethnicity and language preference (REAL) data; Identify and report disparities; Provide culturally and linguistically competent care; Develop culturally competent disease management programs; Increase diversity and minority workforce pipelines; Involve the community; and make cultural competency an institutional priority.

This organizational assessment offers a sampling of questions designed to help predominately white organizations and multi-racial organizations examine and change the ways your organization replicates larger racist patterns. (2001)

Tipsheets are based on the experiences of the organization in doing, evaluating and learning from others about how to do racial equity work. 

This Toolkit provides background information on immigrant children and families in California and immigration terminology. It also discusses the trauma that immigrant children and families may experience at different points throughout the migration journey, describes the unique experiences of unaccompanied minors, and provides insight on engaging with immigrant families across cultural divides. The Toolkit offers advice on working with children and families to identify the need for immigration legal services, as well as information on how to connect them to non-profit legal services in the community. It provides an overview of the legal framework for working with parents detained in immigration custody or who have been deported, as well as best practices for navigating such complex situations.

A four-part online module series provides an overview of implicit bias, including the origins of biases, effects on the brain, understanding how biases operate in the real world, ways to mitigate their presence, a brief history of race and child protection in the U.S.

A five-part webinar series focused on the interplay between structural racism, behavioral health institutional racism, implicit bias, and behavioral health disparities.
