Week of November 3
Last week we had a great time at our Halloween parties! Thank you to all the room moms who made it possible, everyone who sent in supplies and those who helped on party day! The kids LOVED it!
Next week we’ll continue learning Colorado history as students research and investigate influential people in Colorado’s history. We’ll also be writing another expository paragraph using text evidence from 3 sources. We have our next Audubon experience next week as well! We’ll be learning about birds’ skeletal system and how these adaptations help them survive.
Energy Competition Update! The Renew Our Schools energy contest has ended! Students have been reflecting on all the things they learned and accomplished over the past few weeks. LTE finished in second place! We tied for first place in points from energy-saving actions, but another school saved slightly more energy than we did during the competition. Overall, this is a huge accomplishment! Our LTE Electricians won $100 from the energy competition, an additional $500 from the DCSD Sustainability office to put towards energy efficiency, and a priceless amount of learning!
Sports Equipment/Toys: As a reminder, students are not allowed to bring sports equipment or toys from home to school. The exception to this would be if Mrs. Cole requests things for P.E. Please help us to make sure these things do not make it into backpacks. Thank you!
Weather - As the weather changes and gets colder, please be mindful that if the wind chill is above 21 degrees we will go outside for brain break and lunch recess. Students need to be prepared with jackets/hoodies/appropriate shoes/etc. for each day. Thank you!
Upcoming Reminders:
Being Here from the Golden History Museum: The Golden History Museum will conduct “Being Here” programs for fourth grade at LTE on Wednesday, November 15. This experience is live on MySchoolBucks. The cost is $5.40.
