GENERATIVE AI AT UM-FLINT

Generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools, such as ChatGPT, have become increasingly widespread and are impacting higher education in numerous ways, presenting both opportunities and challenges for the ways instructors teach and students learn. In response, UM-Flint’s AI Taskforce developed resources to offer guidance as we navigate the use of AI tools in our teaching and learning practices.

The Generative AI resource page offers a brief introduction to AI tools, several recommendations faculty might consider when navigating or engaging with these tools in their courses, and additional resources for faculty and students. Additionally, the University of Michigan issued a Generative Artificial Intelligence Committee Report, which lays a proposed foundation for how U-M might live and work with generative AI.
