The forum will be held on 24-26 November 2017 in Minsk.

Participants from Belarusian cities can receive reimbursement for travel and accommodation expenses.

The organizers of the event are the NGO “Minsk Cycling Community” and the Center for Environmental Solutions. The forum is organized with the support of the Delegation of the European Union and the US Embassy in the Republic of Belarus.

The program of  PraRovar forum

FRIDAY, November 24th 10:00 - 18:00: The official day.

First session (10:30 - 11:30)

The introductory session is devoted to the current state of the urban development of cycling in Belarus. The tasks that the Belarusian cities set for themselves, as well as the developed national concept of cycling development.

Second session: Organizational aspects of the development of urban cycling.

12:00 - 13:30

Tasks and their solutions, facing the city authorities in the development of urban cycling in Belarus. City bicycle concept. How to begin creation of the working plan, algorithm of actions, interaction with the public.

The session primarily organized for representatives of the city executive bodies, project organizations involved in the process of development of urban development projects.

Fourth session: How can the city find the budget for bicycle infrastructure?

14:30 - 15:30

The session will consider international assistance programs, parallel projects that can be used to find financing for bicycle projects, as well as ways to involve the business.

The session is intended for representatives of executive authorities of cities and NGOs.

Sixth session: Business area.

15:30 - 17:30

What is bicycle business in Belarus today? What kind of partnership is possible to solve common problems. Can a social bicycle project be self-supporting.

Third session: Business site.

12:00 - 13:30 (Club room)

City cycling as a sphere for advertising and implementation of corporate social responsibility. Partnership of non-governmental organizations and business.

Fifth session: Selection of technical solutions in the organization of cycling and road safety.

14:30 - 15:30 + Coffee break + 16:00 - 17:30

The session will consider the issues of what the city's bicycle infrastructure should be. Designers, architects, representatives of city administration, traffic police of cities and design institutes can exchange experience, hear about foreign experience in creating a bicycle infrastructure, there will be an opportunity to discuss road standards.

SATURDAY, 25 November:

Day for organizations involved in the development of cycling tourism, the creation of cycling routes, bicycle activists.

First session Organization of cycling events.

Second session Bicycle tourism, tourist orientation in cities (small area)

Educational excursion around the city on bicycles for infrastructure solutions and route guidance.

The event is held within the framework of the project "Urban cycling in Belarus" with the financial support of the EU. The aim of this project is to contribute to the development of urban cycling in Belarus through improvements in legislative and regulatory acts for cycling infrastructure at the national and regional levels; increasing the efficiency of organizations in the promotion and development of the bicycle transport system; ensuring the active participation of local residents in attracting the attention of city authorities to the rights and opportunities of cyclists. The project will be implemented in Belarus in 2017-2019 by the Center for Environmental Solutions and the Minsk Bicycle Community with the financial support of the European Union.

The event is held with the assistance of the US Embassy in the Republic of Belarus.
