Trinidad and Tobago is a twin island republic located 7 miles off the coast of South America. The cosmopolitan population of 1.3 million boasts a rich history of Indian, West African, European, and Venezuelan influences. This cultural program will introduce each visitor to different elements of Trinidad and Tobago’s culture. Dance, music, food, and sightseeing are just a few elements of this trip.

The N.S.S.O. boasts a compliment of twenty-three (23) of Trinidad and Tobago’s finest, music-literate pannists. In addition to a rehearsal schedule of five days a week, members are also expected to take part in a range of capacity-building workshops and Ministry projects such as school tours and foreign exchanges. N.S.S.O opens their doors to local and international students in their Contact Series, which allows visitors to play the new G pans along with the N.S.S.O.

Turtle Watching                 SIGHTSEEING

Join Nature Seekers as they take you on an exceptional journey to experience the ancient nesting ritual of the majestic Leatherback Sea Turtles. Between 1st March and 31st August each year, hundreds of sea turtles grace the shores of Trinidad to nest. This tour focuses on these amazing natural wonders of the nesting activities of sea turtles. At Matura Beach you will have the unique opportunity to be arms-length away from the largest sea turtles in the world as they engage in this ancient process.

Caroni Swamp                    SIGHTSEEING

The 12,000-acre Caroni Swamp and Bird Sanctuary is the natural nesting home of the Scarlet Ibis bird, one of the national birds of Trinidad and Tobago. The other is the Cocrico, the only game bird native to Tobago and is not found in Trinidad. The major attraction at this mangrove is the opportunity to observe, close to sunset, the ritualistic roosting habits of thousands of these bright red birds. Many of the guides claim the birds travel daily to the Venezuelan mainland to feed, then return to the Swamp at dusk, a distance of about 11 miles.

Gasparee Caves                  SIGHTSEEING

This fun tour, which combines a boat ride along the scenic north-west peninsula; an easy hike; and a cave adventure 100 feet underground is a once in a lifetime experience. Gasparee Caves is a natural system of limestone caverns and caves created by millions of years of wave action and slightly acid rain on the island of Gaspar Grande. At the bottom of the cave (100 feet underground) you will find a mysterious clear tidal pool. The cave contains interesting stalagmite and stalactite formations which have been given nicknames such as "The Buddha", "Virgin Mary" and "The Lovers".
