The 2020 Census is here!

Did you know?

The census determines representation:

An accurate census is essential for the allocation of representatives to serve in the legislative bodies of the U.S. House of Representatives, the Louisiana State Legislature, and within voting districts.

The census determines funding:

Accurate census information is also used to distribute more than $675 billion in federal funds annually to support schools, hospitals, fire departments, road improvements, public works, and other social services.

You can respond 3 ways:

Online, over the phone, or through the mail. The census website is https://my2020census.gov/.

Help us teach everyone about the importance of the census!

Compete in our art contest! Create a piece of art, such as a painting, photograph, flyer, or drawing that explains how the census is important to your community.

Whatever you do, it should help spread the word about the importance of the census. Submit your creation to countdabayou@gmail.com by June 1st at 4:30pm. All entries must be submitted via email in digital format. No hard copies/original artwork will be accepted.

The top 3 pieces of artwork will be shared on our count da bayou social media sites and TPTV.

All entries and subject matter shall be tasteful and non-offensive in nature. TPCG and its partners have sole discretion to reject or disqualify any entries not deemed appropriate. This project is intended to be a fun and creative way to promote and encourage participation in the Census. TPCG and its partners do not assume any ownership or liability of the entries as intellectual or physical property.
