Dear Mr. James

I want to express my intent to help remove the barriers to innovating solutions to current traffic and pollution problems. I support the following ideas you have presented to me.

I have reviewed the success of the Morgantown PRT and recommendations of Congressional Study PB-244854, “Automated Guideway Transit.” It is clear that grade-separated networks of self-driving cars can radically reduce traffic costs and improve safety (https://www.jpods.com/morgantown)

I understand your US Patent (6,810,817) improves on the Morgantown PRT by:

  1. Independent robots replace the central computer system of Morgantown, a "distributed network of intelligent devices."
  2. Solar-powering the network, "Solar and wind power generators integrated into the physical Structure of Said transportation System."

Congressional Study PB-244854 documents a century of barriers to transportation innovations:

  1. “institutional failure” (DOTs) blocked transportation innovation for “four to six decades.” Published 47 years ago.
  2. “In retrospect, the new systems efforts have served not to stimulate interest in new technology but to discourage already reluctant local transit operators from considering it."

Restoring free markets with the 5X5 Standard seems a solution to these ‘institutional failures.” Unless rejected in writing within 30 days approvals are granted for privately funded networks 5 times more efficient than roads that pay 5% of their gross revenues for non-exclusive use of the airspace over existing public Rights of Way.

Sincerely
