The Scientific Method
Question: What do you want to know? What is the connection between climate change and the water cycle? |
Purpose: Why do you want to know this? How will the answer to this question help? So we can find out more information to help us stop climate change. |
Background Information: What do you already know about this topic? Is there anything that you need to find out before starting this experiment? I know the water cycle and the different steps. I also know about climate change and how the globe is heating up because of the human race. |
Hypothesis: What do you think that will happen and why? I don't think it will work because I don't think we will see all three steps in the water cycle. |
Method: What are the steps to the experiment that you are going to use to answer your question? Step 1: raw the water cycle on a zip lock bag STep 2: Fill the bag up to the water you drew Step 3: Tape the bag in a window with direct sunlight Step 4: Watch for any changes |
Materials: What equipment will you need? Ziplock Bag Markers/Pens Tape A window |
Observations & Results: What do you notice during the experiment? Include any potential changes that need to happen and why? What were the results* of your experiment? The bag started fogging up and then the condensation started forming on the outside. The water level went down. *Ensure that any measurements are properly recorded in a table |
Analyse Data & Draw Conclusions: What happened? Why did it happen? Link back to your background information and your hypothesis. The condensation appeared because of the sun. |
Communicate Your Findings: Present your findings to others. |
