The ClimateRed setting

Overview of interpretation settings during the Summit

During the Summit, we have 2 different interpretation settings:

“ClimateRed” setting

Using a custom made interpretation interface.

This is for 95% of the sessions. Those will have english only on the floor.

You will:

“Full zoom” setting

This is only for 3 sessions (You may not be involved).

Using Zoom’s interpretation module.

You will use 2 devices, with 2 different zoom accounts 

You will receive only one zoom link by session (you won’t receive a specific interpreter link).

Use it to connect both your devices with their respective accounts.

We will assign you to your respective booth.

Rename your active device (output) according to the following example: “INT AR John Doe”.

Important: We will have a whatsapp backchannel by session to coordinate / support. Your focal point will be either Ian O’Donnell or Laurent Fernandez.

Climate red setting:

The “climatered” custom interpretation interface

You will find here information on how to register, login, get to and use the climate.red interpretation interface (“ClimateRed” setting).

Requirements

We recommend that you define it as your default internet browser for your comfort.

Registering

Register to the event from the atrium on https://climate.red

Scroll down until the button “Register now!” appears.

You will receive an email from support@climate.red requesting to verify your email address.

By clicking on “Verify my email” you will automatically be logged in as the webpage opens in your default browser.

Beware: If Google Chrome isn’t your default browser, either change this setting (see instruction here), or copy/paste the “Verify my email” button’s link from the email to Google Chrome.

Logging in

if you log out the climate.red platform, or even maybe if you close Google Chrome, you’ll need to login again. Login works through a 2 steps verification process through email.

Click on “login” on the top right corner of https://climate.red

Enter your email address to request a login code

(please consistently always use the same address that you communicated to the organizing team)

You’ll receive an email by support@climate.red with a login button. It may take a few minutes. Check spam / junk.

In this email, click on login. Make sure it opens on Google Chrome.

If not, check that Chrome is installed and:

  • right click > copy link. Open Google Chrome, paste in the address bar.
  • Or: open with > Google Chrome

We recommend that you have Google Chrome as default browser to save you the trouble.

Interpretation interface: interpretation schedule and access to booths

Once logged in:

To access the interpretation interface, click on “Interpret mode”.

Interpretation Schedule

Once in the interpretation interface, you’ll see the schedule of sessions that need interpretation and buttons allowing you to access the language booths beside each session.

Please note that the times shown match your specific timezone.

Click on “Back to the Atrium” to go directly back to the main page of the event.

In Booth

To access a booth for a given session, click on the corresponding language button in the interpretation interface

Once in your booth:

In a given booth (here Arabic) you will see 3 sections:

If the list shows empty, click “Refresh devices” and allow access to your microphone

Click on “Back to Interpretation” to go back to the interpretation schedule.

Click on “Back to the Atrium” to go directly back to the main page of the event.
