We are excited to once again host Kendall Ford's "Ford Drive 4 UR School" event Sunday, October 22nd from 11 AM to 4 PM. For each test drive of a new Ford during the event, Kendall Ford of Eugene will be donating $20 to your choice of four participating education foundations, including Pleasant Hill Education Foundation, with a maximum dealership donation of $6,000. The funds raised will help to inspire learning, enhance teaching, and create opportunities for every student within all four school districts.

LOCATION: Kendall Ford, 344 Goodpasture Island Road

OTHER

Any 7th and 8th grade girls interested in playing basketball this year, signups are in the main office!  Please sign up in the office and get registered online.  Practices start next week.

Middle School Students - Notices for "Kent's Kids" will be passed out on Tuesdays.  Students who receive a notice need to grab their lunch and their homework and head to room 23 within the first 10 minutes of lunch.  This is an opportunity and intervention to improve academic success.  It is required to attend all three days.  Notices are only given on Tuesdays, so please remember to go Wednesday and Thursday as well.

Middle School Students - The MS hallway/Commons/Courtyard area is not open for lunch time games this week due to the continued messiness. We will try again next week.

(PH)ilanthropy Club meets during Middle School lunch on Fridays w/Ms. Hill. "Philanthropy Friday" is all about organizing efforts that altruistically reach out and serve others.  Join us and see what great organizations we are hoping to work with, and people, (and animals!) we are hoping to serve.

High School & 8th Grade Students - Peer Mediation training takes place with Ms. Hill, in room 8, on Mondays during HS lunch.  Anyone who is interested in becoming a Peer Mediator, please join us on Mondays!  Any 8th grader who is interested must ask permission from their Academy teacher first, as we meet during MS 4th period.

Great news - the PH Tennis Courts are now open to all students, staff, and community members. They look great and they have a surface that will last for many years with very low maintenance. Also, the tennis ball will have a "true bounce", unlike our previous concrete tennis courts. Thank you to all community members that have donated money to this project. Fundraising is continuing to complete the "outdoor court" project. The next steps are 4 basketball hoops, and lights being added to allow for night time use. The estimated price for the basketball hoops is $8,000. The PH Booster Club has generously stated that they will "match the next $4,000 that is donated toward this project". This means if you donate $50, we now have $100 raised toward the next step. Donations can be directed to the PH Boosters, or call the high school office if you have questions.

Tennis Club will begin again starting this Thursday, Oct 12, if the weather allows us to play. Tennis Club is open to any student grade 9-12. Stop by Mrs Doe's classroom #19 at lunch or break any time this week to sign up. Tennis Club will meet in the high school gym at 3:15 any Monday and/or Thursday that it isn't raining, all school year. We play until about 4pm each time we play. Come for one day or every time. Come have some fun, no experience needed. Tennis rackets and tennis balls will be provided.

Do you want to help out the Middle School dance committee for our first dance of the year?  We need Halloween decorations for the first dance on Friday, October 27th, from 3:15-5:00.  If you have any old Halloween decorations that the dance committee could borrow, it would help a lot. You can bring the decorations to Room 6 by Thursday, October 26. Thank you!!

Today the canteen will serve teriyaki beef or orange chicken, fried rice, broccoli, carrots, and applesauce for lunch.  Thursday they will serve maple bar or pancake, fruit/juice, and choice of milk for breakfast and sub sandwich or chicken strips, mashed potatoes, corn, carrots, and pears for lunch.
