3v3 Basketball Tournament Rules

  1. PLAYER CONDUCT        
  1. Abusive and profane language will not be tolerated and is grounds for immediate disqualification. Any abuse of the officials, coordinator, other players, or fans can warrant a technical foul called.
  2. Should a player receive two (2) technical fouls in the same game they will be ejected from the tournament and must leave the facility.
  1. If a player received multiple technicals over the course of the tournament, Club Sport reserves the right to remove that player from the rest of the tournament.
  1. Any player or fan is encouraged to root for their own team but rooting against teams or use of disparaging language is discouraged and could result in penalties of players or dismissals of fans.
  1. Any fans of teams may be asked to leave by Club Sport staff. Refusal to leave could result in forfeiture of games.

  1. Game time is forfeit time!
  2. All players must sign the roster (waiver) BEFORE they play in a game in order to be eligible to play.
  1. Captains will be given their team’s roster at the sign-in table. The roster must be given back to the coordinator prior to the team's first game.
  2. Any additions to rosters must be made by the start of your 2nd game
  3. All players must be signed in by the start of their 3rd game to be eligible to play in the playoffs.
  1. Women are allowed to play in men’s tournaments.  No special coed rules will apply.

  1. The game will begin with Rock, Paper, Scissors to determine possession.
  2. Check the ball at top of the arc to opposing team after made baskets.
  1. On change of possession, the ball must be possessed outside the arc before shooting.
  1. 2 - 10 minute halves, running clock (including free throws).
  1. Clock will stop on all whistles during the last minute of the second half.  
  1. Players may sub in on any dead ball.
  2. Each team is allowed 1 - 30 second timeout per half.
  3. Half time will be 2 minutes long.
  4. Players fouled while shooting will receive ONE free throw whether the basket was made or missed.
  1. Individual fouls are not recorded, however after the 7th team foul one free throw will be awarded.
  2. Two free throws awarded on the 10th team foul of each half.
  3. Players may enter the lane during free throws upon release of the ball.
  1. Baskets shot inside the arc (or touching the arc) count as 1 point.
  2. Baskets shot outside the arc count as 2 points.
  3. If a team reaches 21 points and is winning by 2 or more points the game will be over and that team deemed the winner.
  4. Should a game be tied at the end of regulation during pool play it will be over and recorded as a tie.
  5. Forfeit will be recorded as 8-0.
  1. Florida High School rules will cover anything else.

  1. Playoffs are single elimination with seeding based on pool play standings.
  1. The top team in each division will make the playoffs.
  2. One wild card team from the remaining teams will also make the playoffs.
  3. Seeding is based on the following criteria: (1) Record, (2) point differential, (3) points scored, (4) coin flip.
  1. Game play is the same as during pool play.
  2. If a game is tied at the end of regulation, there will be a 2 minute overtime period to determine the winner.
  1. Overtime will start right away without a break.
  2. Possession is determined by Rock, Paper, Scissor to start the overtime.
  3. If a team reaches 21 (winning by 2 or more) the game will be over.
