Virginia Preschool Initiative

2025-26

All items are to be labeled with Child’s Name

• 1 (one) beach towel/blanket for rest time (please no pillows/no stuffed animals)                    - Beach towel/blanket must be able to fit in a shoebox size container and students will be taught on how to put it away 🙂

• Bookbag (must be able to fit a standard size folder)

• 2 pairs of extra clothes in Ziploc bag labeled with child’s name (2 shirts, 2 pants/shorts, 2 socks, 2-4 pairs underwear)

• If your child is not toilet trained, please send diapers/pull-ups as needed in a bag and labeled with the child's name.

• Healthy snacks for each day, Ex. pretzel sticks, goldfish, raisins/craisins (a Ziploc bag with a variety of snacks for the week/month that can be kept at school)

• Reusable Water Bottle to be taken home daily to be washed

    Donated Helpful Odds and Ends

Themed items for the year:

        Family: donated items from place of employment, ex. pens, notepads, paper, etc.

        Grocery Store: taped/clean food boxes, reusable bags

        Restaurant: clean and unused restaurant items such as chopsticks, menus, pizza boxes, etc

        Doctor/Vet: clean medicine cups/medicine droppers, reusable paper gowns, etc.

        Community helpers: talk to your child’s teacher if you or someone you know would be

 interested in coming to talk to the class (fire fighter, police officer, mail person,

 doctor, nurse, x-ray technician, sanitation worker, dentist, banker, vet, etc.)

Information Needed for Student’s file:

School File: updated immunization/physical record, birth certificate, proof of residency, pupil registration form (all items MUST BE turned in BEFORE child can attend school in August.

VPI File: income verification form signed

The school nurse will be in touch over the summer to let you know what is still needed if anything is missing in regards to physical/immunizations.
