An in-depth look at a universe

Biomes

ID 0: Lush Cavern

Biome type: Cave (0m ~ -2048m)

The first ever biome implemented in this game. A bright green cave with frequently occuring, huge stalactites and stalagmites.

ID 1: Walkways

Biome type: Cave (0m ~ -2048m)

A vertically stretched cave with notable shelves and walkways. Has exclusive vegetations.

ID 2: Digital Chimayo

Biome type: Cave (0m ~ -2048m)

A blocky terrain with jagged streaks of light. Was initially named RGB land, until it was pointed out that the light patterns look similar to a chimayo pattern.

ID 3: Magenta Sunset

Biome type: Surface (0m ~)

A hill/flatland hybrid. The most common surface biome as of now.

ID 4: Magenta Moonrise

Biome type: Surface (0m ~)

A night variant of the Magenta Sunset biome.

ID 5: Canyon

Biome type: Surface (0m ~)

A canyon biome. One of the easiest biomes to find cave entrances, due to its low elevation.

ID 6: Night Canyon

Biome type: Surface (0m ~)

A night variant of the canyon biome. Has exclusive vegetation.

ID 7: Vaporrange

Biome type: Surface (0m ~)

A biome representing a vaporwave-ish mountain range. Shallow, subsurface caves can be found.

ID 8: Metropolis

Biome type: Surface (0m ~)

A biome representing a metropolis. Roads carve through the city.

ID 9: Origins

Biome type: Cave (0m ~ -2048m)

A recreation of my earliest tests in procedural cave terrain generation. Uncolored, unmodified, and featureless, identical to how it all began.

ID 10: Nullscape

Biome type: Core (-2048m ~ -4096m)

A first ever core biome. Subject to change.

Features

-Cave Entrances

Rarity of cave entrances is highly dependent on the height of the surface terrain, due to its poor ability to pierce through surface material.

-Hot springs

Can only spawn on large, flat surfaces. Or at least that’s how I think I coded it. Has a message board that you can vandalize leave a message for anyone else that visits the same hot spring.

-Yatai shops

Currently lacks the ability to buy anything. You can vandalize leave a message for anyone else that visits the same shop.

Entities

-An unnamed dragon mount (subject to change)

A mount that the player can ride for faster horizontal movement. Can be summoned by waving a hand in the air.

-An unnamed octopus mount (subject to change)

A mount that the player can ride for faster vertical movement. Can be summoned by waving a hand in the air.

-Randomly selected (and / or generated) octopuses

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It’s an octopus!

-The Player?

Honestly I don’t even know what this is, ask Anju because she designed this

Anomalies

ID ?: “Inverted basalt columns”

Biome type: Anomaly (-∞m ~ ∞m)

The first anomaly to be ever documented. Most likely a product of reckless performance optimization attempts.
