SCHOOL-PARENT COMPACT 2024-2025
Florida Scholars Academy and the parents of students participating in activities, services, and programs funded by Title I, Part A agree that this compact outlines how the parents, the entire school staff, and the students will share the responsibility for improved student academic achievement and the means by which the school and parents will build and develop a partnership that will help students achieve the State’s high standards.
This school-parent compact is in effect during the 2024-2025 school year.
Florida Scholars Academy will:
Provide high-quality curriculum and instruction in a supportive and effective learning environment that enables the participating students to meet the state’s student academic achievement standards as follows:
- Ensure a safe and supportive school environment.
- Maximize the effectiveness of instruction by offering professional development on current instructional strategies.
- Increase student achievement.
- Collaborate with parents and community in a partnership characterized by communication and mutual respect, as evidenced by parent training geared towards distinct aspects of the student’s education program and development.
- Ensure the student takes part in all required testing at both the school and state level.
- Ensure the student is engaged in active online learning every day and meets the terms of their enrollment.
- Ensure the student’s learning environment is safe, quiet, and has minimal distractions.
- Ensure the student has appropriate technological equipment at a minimum: a computer, reliable internet service, an internal or external microphone, and printer per facility.
- Ensure the students have the necessary supplies needed for each school day.
Provide ongoing communication opportunities during which this compact will be discussed as it relates to the individual student’s achievement.
- A Student Education Transition Plan Upon Entry will be completed withing 10 school days of entry to the program to help acclimate students and caretakers and to provide necessary transition support.
- Communication with parents/guardians regarding the student’s progress will happen during the Formal Monthly Treatment Team meetings
- Communication with all stakeholders will take place during the Trimester Title I meetings.
Provide parents with frequent reports on their student’s progress. Specifically, FSA will provide:
- During the Formal Treatment Team Meeting, monthly academic progress will be shared.
- During transition, and community reentry, a full academic history will be shared with all stakeholders.
Provide parents reasonable access to staff.
- Teachers, administration, and support staff will be available upon request.
Provide parents opportunities to volunteer, participate, provide feedback and to observe classroom activities, as follows:
- Participate and attend Title I meetings.
- Participate in the Formal Monthly Treatment Team Meetings
Parent Responsibilities:
Parents will support their students learning in the following ways:
- Participate in required monthly meeting with paraprofessional and other meeting/conferences as needed.
- Participate in school related activities such as, Title I Trimester Meetings.
- Stay informed about their student’s education by promptly reading all notices from the school or the school district and responding as appropriate.
- Be informed and advocate for their student in all aspects of his/her education.
Parents will partner with school leadership to collaborate, provide feedback and participate in the development of the School-Parent Compact and the School Improvement Plan (SIP) each year:
- Parents, students, and staff are invited to participate in school decision-making and are provided an open platform at our Trimester Title I Meetings.
- Stay up to date on school email or messages sent by school.
- Review the Family Resource Center and calendar of events
- Complete surveys to obtain parent feedback are provided via text, and email, throughout the school year.

Student Responsibilities:
Students will share the responsibility to improve their academic achievement and achieve the State’s high standards. Specifically, each student will:
- Be an active learner and take responsibility for their education.
- At a minimum, be actively engaged in learning every day and meet the terms of student enrollment.
- Complete all assigned assignments on time and monitor their grades.
- Always be in communication with their teacher or paraprofessional.
- Adhere to the Florida Scholars Academy Public-School Student and Parent Handbook and the student enrollment terms.
