Ride Eats Privacy Policy

At Ride Eats, we want to link you to the Merchants we partner with and allow you to order Items for delivery service. Where you order from a merchant, Ride Eats acts as an agent on behalf of that merchant to conclude your order from our Application and to manage your experience throughout the order process. In this privacy policy, we tell you what information we receive from Ride Delivery bikers and drivers, and how we use it to connect consumers with merchants and continue to improve our services. Below, we explain how the Ride Eats Community brings people together.

Scope of this Privacy Policy

Ride Eats(“Ride Eats,” “we,” “our,” and/or “us”) values the privacy of individuals who use our application, websites, and related services (collectively, the “Ride Eats Platform ”). This privacy policy (the “Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, use, and share information from Ride Eats users (“Users”). Beyond the Privacy Policy, your use of Ride Eats is also subject to our Terms of Service.

Information We Collect

A. Information You Provide to Us

Registration Information. When you sign up for a Ride Eats account, you give us your name, email address, and phone number. If you decide to sign up for Ride Eats using your Facebook account, we will also get basic information from your Facebook profile like your name, gender, profile photo, and Facebook friends.

User Profile Information. When you join the Ride Eats community, you can create a Ride Eats Profile to share fun facts about yourself, and discover mutual friends and interests. Filling out a profile is optional, and you can share as little or as much as you want. Your name is always part of your Profile. Read more below about how you can control who sees your Profile.

If you contact us directly, we may receive additional information about you. For example, when you contact our Customer Support Team, we will receive your name, email address, phone number, the contents of a message or attachments that you may send to us, and other information you choose to provide.

B. Information We Collect When You Use the Ride Eats Platform

Location Information.

Ride Eats is all about connecting merchants and consumers. To do this, we need to know where you are. When you open Ride Eats on your mobile device, we receive your location. We may also collect the precise location of your device when the app is running in the foreground or background. If you label certain locations, such as “home” and “work,” we receive that information, too. We collect technical information from your mobile device or computer, such as its operating system, the device and connection type and the IP address, web browser type, mobile operating system version, phone carrier and manufacturer, application installations, device identifiers, mobile advertising identifiers, push notification tokens, and, if you register with your Facebook account, your Facebook identifier, from which you are accessing our application. Also, if the need ever arises, our Trust & Safety team may use and share location information to help protect the safety of Ride Eats Users or a member of the public. To help us understand how you use the Ride Eats Platform and to help us improve it, we automatically receive information about your interactions with the Ride Eats Platform, like the pages or other content you view, your actions within the Ride Eats app, and the dates and times of your visits.

User Feedback. At Ride Eats, we want to make sure Users are always enjoying the experience. Users may rate and review at the end of every delivery. We receive information about ratings and reviews and, as we explain below, give merchants information about user ratings and reviews.

Address Book Contacts. If you permit Ride Eats to access the address book on your device through the permission system used by your mobile platform, we may access and store names and contact information from your address book to facilitate invitations and social interactions that you initiate through our Platform and for other purposes described in this privacy policy or at the time of consent or collection.

Information from Cookies and Similar Technologies. We collect information through the use of “cookies”, tracking pixels, and similar technologies to understand how you navigate through the Ride Platform and interact with Ride advertisements, to learn what content is popular, and to save your preferences. Cookies are small text files that web servers place on your device; they are designed to store basic information and to help websites and apps recognize your browser. We may use both session cookies and persistent cookies. A session cookie disappears after you close your browser. A persistent cookie remains after you close your browser and may be accessed every time you use the Ride Platform. You should consult your web browser(s) to modify your cookie settings. We also process your data where we have a legitimate interest for doing so— for example personalisation of our service, including processing data to make it easier and faster for you to place orders. We have listed these reasons below:

If you submit comments and feedback regarding the application and the services, we may use such comments and feedback on the application and in any marketing or advertising materials. We will only identify you for this purpose by your first name and the city in which you live.Where you have chosen to receive push notifications from us through our mobile application, we may send you push notifications relating to the services that you have requested from us and information about our services and offers. We will also analyse data about your use of our services from your location data to create profiles relating to you and for you. This means that we may make certain assumptions about what you may be interested in and use this, for example, to send you more tailored marketing communications, to present you with restaurants that we think you will prefer, or to let you know about special offers or products which we think you may be interested in . This activity is referred to as profiling. You have certain rights in relation to this type of processing. Please see the 'Your Rights' section below for more information.

Where we rely on legitimate interest as a basis for processing your personal information, we carry out a ‘balancing test’ to ensure that our processing is necessary and that your fundamental rights of privacy are not outweighed by our legitimate interests. How We Share the Information We Collect

A. Sharing Between Users

Sharing between merchants and users. Merchants and users that have been matched for a delivery are able to see basic information about each other, such as names, photo, ratings, and any information they have added to their Profiles. Merchants see the drop-off  location that the user has provided. User ratings of merchants are shared with merchants on a daily basis.
