1. Events Needing Sign Up

1. MAAPP - Minor Athlete Abuse Prevention Policy - Thank you for your help so far!

• A new set of guidelines mandated by the United States Olympic Committee and administered by each National Governing Body (ours is USA Swimming and locally, Wisconsin Swimming.  In the next weeks, each family will have to agree to have read and understood these mandated policies.  
• All parents of minors must sign off 
• All adult athletes who are registered members of USA Swimming must also sign off
• All adults who are registered members of USA Swimming must also sign off

2. Summer Splash Meet - DUE July 27 - sign up now for the Summer Splash Meet on Saturday, August 3 at Aug Prep - for swimmers 14 & Under who did not qualify for WI Swimming State Meets.

3. Central Zone Registration now open 14 & Unders with AAA

4. 12 & U State - Meet Site is this weekend at Rec Plex.  Schroeder has another strong group and it should super fun!

5. 13 & O State - Meet Site will be at WSAC 8/1-4 - most all of the entries are set -

• Relay declaration form - if you are interested in swimming relays please complete this form - LIMITED to A & B only - new state rule
• each team will have to provide timers.  Just a heads up.  No team was interested in bidding the meet.  The host team agreed to run the meet with the idea that the LSC would provide timers.  This is not related to Schroeder’s Swim Team Family Work Requirements but if you / your swimmer is racing you will likely have to help with a session.  More info to follow.

2. Central Zone Section 1 Speedo Meet - was at the U of MN where new renovations provided really great air quality.  Overall good performances from the athletes.  Hannah Saiz won the 2 fly and qualified for her 3rd Olympic Trials, Ben Meulemans qualified for the USA Jr Championship, the quartette of Ben, Christian, Caden and Jack made the USA Jr Champ standard in the 4 x 100 FR, and several picked up additional swims for the for the Jr meet.

3. Summer Regional Champ @ WSAC was a good meet for Schroeder!  Several new state qualifiers and a good season ending meet for many!

4. Glenn Lewis Memorial Fund - Glenn Lewis was tragically taken from us Wednesday July 3rd in a car accident.  Glenn leaves behind his wife Liza (Sinclair, WFBHS Class of 1984) and their four children Chandler, McKenna, Hunter and Colin.  Follow the link

6. Season ending notes

1. Locker clean out at WSAC - please remove locks and contents on or before 8/16
2. Last days of training - all athletes will finish their summer schedule on Wed, July 31 at WSAC and Aug Prep.  Athletes participating in SSTY Summer Splash, Zone, State or USA Jr will be racing or training through 8/4 or 8/11 and then all will be on a deserved break.
3. The WSAC Pool will be closed for drain, clean and refill 8/16 - 9/3
4. Restart preview - most groups will resume training on 9/9.  The week of 9/3 will be for swim evaluations and some light training for Sr groups.
5. High school-aged athletes intending to train primarily with their school teams should read this article

Please contact your swimmer’s lead coach with your questions.  Email or call your athlete’s coach or talk to her/him before or after practice.

Please mail all checks to WSAC rather than giving them to coaches at practice.
