Frequently Asked Questions

When will I receive my tag?  We are following the process set forth by the NC DMV and expect plates to be mailed to your home late Winter/early Spring 2019 via US Postal Service.

It’s time to renew my current tag, and I haven’t received my Alpha plate.  What should I do?  You should renew your current plate and keep it current.  If you don’t have a current plate, then the NC DMV will delay in sending you the Alpha plate.

What happens if I move or change vehicles after all applications are turned in to the NC DMV?  The NC DMV will notice the discrepancy and will contact you via US Postal Service.

Why should I sign up for the tag?  A portion of the license plate renewal will go back to the ANCA Educational Foundation to support a scholarship for a College Brother.

How close are we to achieving our goal?  We have achieved our goal.

When I register, where is the money held?  All money collected is held in a special fund within the ANCA Educational Foundation.  When 500 vehicles are registered, ANCA will make a check to NC DMV to pay for all registrations that have been collected.

Why is my DMV information considered optional?  We are currently in the registration phase and will need vehicle registration after 500 vehicles are registered.

Do I always need to keep the Specialized Alpha Plate? No.  Once we achieve the goal of 500 vehicles, the NC DMV requirement will be met, and you will not be required to keep the Alpha plate at the time of renewal.  You may keep the Alpha plate and reach out to the NCDMV for the Standard Plate.

Do I need to be active to reserve a tag?  No.  This tag is for all Brothers of Alpha that have a vehicle registered in North Carolina.

How long does it take to register?  It only takes 3 minutes.  You will need your name, address, email, and cell phone number.  That is all.  The vehicle information is not required at this time.

Do I need a PayPal account to register? No.  All Credit Cards are also accepted.
