2020 Benefit Meal & Auction - Saturday, February 22

Less Than 6 Weeks Away!

Here's how you can help!

1. Donate Auction Items - Auction Collection Deadline - Monday, February 3

The CCS Auction Executive Committee is challenging every family and student to make a donation to the live and/or silent auction. Join together in donating items or in donating monetary gifts that the auction team can use to purchase items for the auction. The deadline for collecting auction items is February 3.

2. Sponsor a Table

Last year, CCS raised a record $11,000 in table sponsorships. Please consider partnering with us by becoming a corporate table sponsor. Remember, all proceeds from the Benefit Meal & Auction go toward meeting our general fund budget and keeping tuition costs low.  Click here for the table sponsorship form

3. Pre-Sell Meals

This year we are challenging each family to pre-sell 10 meals to the Benefit Meal & Auction. For every family who pre-sells 10 or more meals, each student in that family will receive a free sweats day. All forms and money are due by Friday, February 7.

January is National Board Appreciation Month

Thank You for Serving at CCS

The Central Christian School Board of Trustees advocates Central Christian’s purpose to provide a distinctive, Christ-centered education which integrates faith, life, and learning. CCS strives to provide a pre-K through 12th grade education based on truths in God’s Word to as many as possible in our community.

Each year, CCS pauses to express our appreciation for the individuals who serve faithfully as members of our school’s board of trustees. You may not think of school board members as volunteers, but that is what they are.

Trustees give their time, energy, and counsel to Central Christian, all without pay. They take on the job of promoting the school and making the best decisions they can for our children. The volunteer efforts of the board of trustee members have the potential for tremendous benefit to the community as a whole and the lives of the students individually. By serving in this important role, they lay the foundation for the future.

Thank you, Central Christian School Board of Trustees!

Students Prepare for ACSI Math Olympics

This past fall, all CCS 3rd through 8th graders took a math test to determine the top 6 students (top 3 for Reasoning and top 3 for Computation) in each class who would be competing in the ACSI District Math Olympics. Central Christian competed against students from ACSI’s South-Central region. Twelve of our students qualified to move on and compete in the Oklahoma City area on February 28. Praise the Lord!

Attention! Materials Needed for Science Classes Project

Mr. Walter’s science classes are looking for materials that can be used to create a hydroponics or aquaponics setup in the science classroom. Materials that are needed include PVC pipe and fittings (½” to 4”), PVC posts, PVC hose and fittings, plastic buckets with lids, old shop lights, small water pumps, and old fish tanks and supplies.  If you have any of these things laying around the garage or house taking up space, please bring them to the school, and the science classes will see if they can put them to use for this project. See Mr. Walter or email him at jwalter@cougarsccs.com if you have questions or want details on specific needs for this project.

Smoking Bubbles - 6th Grade Science

Mrs. Hackler’s 6th grade class started this week off with an exciting science experiment. The class made bubbles with warm water, Dawn dish soap, and dry ice. The experiment coincided with their unit on earthquakes and volcanoes. Students also worked on their presentation skills. Mrs. Hackler wants her students to know that science is fun!
