Chad Jensen has worked in the juvenile justice field since 1995 and has been employed with Juvenile Court Services for the past fifteen years. He currently serves as the Director of Juvenile Court Services for the Iowa Judicial Branch. Prior to this Chad was the Chief Juvenile Court Officer for the Fifth Judicial District in Iowa, the largest of eight judicial districts in the state covering Polk and 15 surrounding counties. He previously served as Supervisor of the Polk County Intake Unit and held this position for six years. Prior to becoming a supervisor, Chad was a Field Officer in the Polk County Office responsible for supervising delinquent youth in the community and in residential settings. His previous positions have consisted of Child Protective Service Worker with the Linn County Department of Human Services in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and Juvenile Court School Liaison for the Ankeny and Southeast Polk School Districts.

Chad earned his undergraduate degree in Criminology from the University of Northern Iowa. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1990-2004. During his service in the Army Reserves Chad served as Company Commander of a Military Police Company that was deployed for twenty-four months in response to the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks. During the deployment Chad’s unit provided security and force protection for various military and civilian ocean terminals around the United States.
