Who are the characters in this story? | An Old man, He had sideburns and a grey beard. He was wearing a brownish cloak and a black hat with glasses on him. |
Describe where this story is set? | The story is set on a hillside with a lighthouse on top of it and waves from the ocean bashing the rocks on the side of the hill, the hillside is next to a massive village that practically relies on the light house. |
Explain the opening of the story? | The starting of the story was of the lighthouse light going around in circles and people in the village cheering while it went around in circles. |
What happens during the build up of this story? | While everyone was cheering st the light going around in circles the old man was at the bottom of the lighthouse writing on pieces of paper. |
What is the dilemma? | As the old man was writing papers there was a massive bang sound up at the top of the lighthouse everyone looked at the light to see that it had stopped working so as the old man heard it the window next to him flew open and blew out his candle as he was about to get up and check what happend he fell over but got back up and rushed to see what was wrong with the light when he got up there he saw that the light wasn’t working and he tried to fix it but it broke, as he was figuring it out he heard a noise, he looked out at the bay to see a massive cargo ship heading straight his way, |
How is this resolved? | He rushed down the stairs but when he got down there he could see a blurry light through the door of the lighthouse when he walked out he saw hundreds of people with lamps outside, everyone gathered around the lighthouse and the ship had seen the light and turned hastingly around and headed the other way, |
How does the story end? | The story ends with people standing around the lighthouse with all their lights and lamps, the ship was turning away and then it went into the credits, |
