IIT 2020 Unconference FAQs
- What is the Unconference?
- Unconference is a platform for any IIT 2020 attendee to express their views and share their expertise with peers (subject to rules and guidelines).
- Do I need to pre-register?
- Yes, you do need to register for the Main Conference. There is also a separate Unconference registration page which asks for some details about you and your talk.
- Do I need to pay for speaking at the Unconference?
- Nope! IIT 2020 is completely free. There is no speaking fee, but talks will be subject to a pre-screen.
- How will people know about my talk?
- We will be posting the schedule and some details of the speaker and talk on “The Unconference Wall” on the IIT 2020 page. Anybody registered for IIT 2020 can join the Unconference track(s). Feel free to invite your friends and like-minded people for a healthy discussion and sharing of ideas.
- Is the Unconference interactive?
- The extent of interaction with attendees will be determined by the platform. We will share more details as we get closer.
- What topics are acceptable at the Unconference?
- While we encourage any topic in the spirit of Unconference, but it should generally adhere to the focus of IIT 2020. Generally, talks of a political nature; promotion of a product or service, and inappropriate subjects will not be permitted.
- Is there a limit on the number of participants?
- Theoretically yes. But don’t worry, it is a very large number. Please feel free to invite all your friends and family to your Unconference session. After all, no fun in talking to Me, Myself and Irene :)
- Will my talk at the Unconference be recorded?
- Yes, all IIT 2020 sessions will be recorded and be available for registered participants to view later.
- I got my talk prepared. But how will I know how to present?
- We will share detailed instructions on how to present at the Unconference as we get closer.
- Each slot will be ~ 15-20min. Depending upon the signup, we will provide more details as we get closer.
- What's the deadline for submitting a topic?
- Ideally at the time of registration. But if you have changes as you prepare your talk, we can accommodate. We would like to freeze everything 1 week before the D-day and start advertising your talk!
