St. Petersburg is one of the most beautiful cities of Europe founded by Peter the Great. The city is especially beautiful in the span of spring and summer time (called “white nights”) when day light continues from 3 a.m. to midnight. There are many other ways for interesting excursions, including visiting of small satellite towns Peterhof, Pushkin, Pavlovsk and Gatchina with wonderful gardens and palaces of 18th–19th century. St. Petersburg is also world known as a great cultural center with reach Museums and Exhibition Halls (including the word-known Hermitage and Russian Museum) and famous Theaters (opera, ballet) and philharmonic hall.

The names of many world known mathematicians are associated with St. Petersburg. Among them a special place is occupied by Olga Alexandrovna Ladyzhenskaya who was a one of the world leaders in the field of Partial Differential Equations in the second half of the twentieth century.

2022, the year of the St Petersburg ICM, will mark the centenary of Olga Alexandrovna. The objective of our conference is to bring together experts in the field of Partial Differential Equations, and to honor Ladyzhenskaya’s memory and to pay tribute to her scientific legacy.
