Myth:   A penny dropped from the Empire State Building will kill you if it hits

you in the head.

Debunking the Myth:  Include at least three facts with supporting details that will debunk, or disprove, your chosen myth.    

  1. A penny only weighs about a gram, so a gram of weight traveling at a pretty slow speed it would hurt a little if it hit your head, but not near enough to kill you.
  2. A bullet weighs about 5 to 10 grams, and it travels out of the barrel and through the air at about 800 to 2,000 miles per hour. But, a 1 gram penny dropped from the building only hits about 100 miles per hour.
