EVENT RULES
- No plagiarism; all works submitted must be created by you.
- All creative works are allowed! Fics, art, photos, edits, threads, playlists, cosplays, etc.
- Use appropriate content warnings (CW) and trigger warnings (TW) on all pieces. NSFW pieces are allowed but must be tagged as such. Minors are not allowed to engage with NSFW pieces.
- You can use a single prompt or mix and match prompts for each day, but your submission must be relevant to at least one of them! Creative interpretation of the prompts is allowed and encouraged. For the color palette prompts, artists can use them exactly as presented, take only several colors from it, or add some additional colors as needed, though the color palette prompt should be the main basis.
- You can submit older works as long as they match one of the daily prompts.
- Please tag your posts with #otayuriweek on twitter and #otayuriweek23 on tumblr, and tag the appropriate account name (@otayuriweek on twitter, @otayuriweek23 on tumblr). This way we can see your wonderful pieces and reshare them, and others can easily find them!
- AO3 writers may submit their pieces to the Otayuri Week 2023 collection.
- Late submissions will be reshared up to one week after the event!

Q & A
What is a fan week? Do I need to sign up?
No sign-ups needed! A fan week is an event where we celebrate a fandom, or a specific aspect of one, through the creation of fanart, fanfics, and other creative expressions! In this case, we are celebrating the Otayuri ship (Otabek Altin/Yuri Plisetsky) from the anime Yuri!!! on Ice. People are welcome to participate as they please, whether that’s making things for one day or all seven, or simply cheering on the artists and writers.
What sort of creations can be submitted for Otayuri Week?
Any media made by you! Fanart and fanfics are quite common, but edits, playlists, nendoroid photography, cosplays, mood boards, threads, poems, and anything else you can probably think of are equally fantastic and accepted. The only exception is a piece that integrates other creators’ art without permission, such as a fanvid or playlist cover photo that utilizes stolen fanart. These situations will result in a ban.
If you’re still unsure, feel free to DM one of the official accounts with your question.
Can I include other ships?
Yes! We love other YOI ships too. Just make sure the focus of your piece is on Otayuri.
Do I have to participate for all the days?
Nope! Commit to one day, three days, or all seven if you’re feeling excited!
Can I make my things ahead of time?
Please do! You do not have to make things the same day they’re meant to be posted.
(Mod Ollie definitely thought they had to when they did their first fan week. Mod Ollie did not sleep much that week.)
What is a “Free Prompt?”
It means you can make whatever you want for that day! No need to use any of the listed prompts, though there are a few included if you need some inspiration.
I really like one of the color prompts, but I’m a writer. Can I still use the color prompts as inspiration for a fanfic?
Yes, absolutely! The color prompts are for everyone. You could interpret a certain color palette as a particular mood or theme, or maybe the name of a palette sparks your story.
Can you tell me if my idea counts for [insert prompt here]?
The most likely answer to this is yes, it does count. As long as you think it hits upon the idea in some way, then it’s fair game! For example, if you want to interpret “fashion” as a modeling AU, a clothes-swap scenario, or a shopping trip, those are all perfectly acceptable! Want to take it further and do a My Hero Academia crossover where they’re daydreaming about the design of their hero outfits? Fantastic! Go for it! The sky’s the limit here.
