Flocabulary: We still have an AES flocabulary account. It has great videos and good activities. Use your Google email to log in!
PowerSchool Report Card assignment: Please make sure to add your PowerSchool Report Card assignments to your powerschool gradebook. This is an important first step so that the reporting gets to the report card!!
Reporting Standards and Course Overviews: A reminder to check your reporting standards and course overviews. Melissa is collating them and we will send them at the same time to have them uploaded to PowerSchool.
Ask your colleagues about:
Ask Grade 7 Math about their slope project in December. They will be designing playground equipment and making models in the Makerspace.
Ask Michael C about Math games. He is hoping to make some simple math games and manipulatives in the makerspace and/or have a group of students make them as a service project.
Ask Kimberlyn about 3D printing. Her students are 3D printing stamps.
Ask Kyle about Arduinos. Students are programming them during makerspace class.
Let me know if there is something you would like me to include as I know there is so much more going on!!

Catch your buses
Please make sure students have enough time at the end of after school activities to catch their bus.
Booktalks! Literacy across the curriculum
Our students benefit when we all focus on literacy. Let me know if you’d like me to do 10-15 minutes’ worth of booktalks related to your subject or current unit of study.
MS Students in Transition
With only four weeks of the semester left, we are all soon to experience some degree of transition as units of studies are wrapped up, students complete assessments, performances and the like, and teachers finish grades and comments for semester 1 report cards (perhaps in between visits to all the various holiday Melas!) For those middle school students departing AES at mid-semester (14 students to date - see Lalit’s message for the list of names), these final weeks take on greater significance, and we encourage you to help support students through their transition out of AES and Delhi. Jonathan and Karin will be running three lunchtime sessions for students who are departing, and will provide individual counseling support as requested by the student or suggested by others known to the student. Please let us know how we might further support students and staff in these remaining weeks of Semester 1.
ASIAC Season 2 Students
Please note that the following students will be travelling for ASIAC Season 2. They will miss classes from Thursday, December 6 through Friday, December 7. Please let us know if you have any concerns about a student on this list.

Assistant Principal Search Update
Last week we interviewed 7 AP candidates. All had something interesting and different to offer us. This week we will continue the conversations with 2-3 candidates.
The process moving forward:
One candidate has already accepted another position and others are in the process of interviewing with other schools, therefore, we are aiming to have this process completed by the end of November.
